一、教學(xué)內(nèi)容簡介:本節(jié)課文本選自英文名著閱讀書蟲系列之《傲慢與偏見》的第五章。本章節(jié)圍繞Collins兩次求婚來展開,通過賞析人物語言和行為,判斷人物性格特征,進(jìn)而分析其相應(yīng)的婚姻觀。
二、教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)
(一)Reading Objectives
1.通過分析人物的語言和行為,判斷人物的性格特征。
2.通過比較Mr.Collins,Elizabeth和Lucas的性格、婚姻觀來判斷求婚結(jié)果,進(jìn)而引導(dǎo)學(xué)生的婚姻觀。
3. 在比較三個(gè)人物婚姻觀的基礎(chǔ)上,學(xué)生形成自己對(duì)未來婚姻的想法。
(二)Teaching procedures
I Warming up: In the novel, Pride and Prejudice, who is your favorite character? Why?
II Before appreciation:
Step 1: Review the previous chapters.
Chapter 1 The Bennets new neighbour
Chapter 2 Janes illness
Chapter 3 Mr. Collins visits Longbourn
Chapter 4 Elizabeth meets Mr. Wickham
Step2: Characters ——fill in the blank and complete the character network according to information in Chapter5.

Before reading, according to the title “Mr. Collins proposes twice”, lets predict what will happen in this chapter. (Who will Mr. Collins propose to? What will be the result?)
Step2: Scene 1 (P1---P36) Proposal(求婚) 1
1.(Paragraph1—10) Find out Mr. Collins reasons for marrying.
2.(Paragraph11—16)
1) Did he thought that Elizabeth would accept his proposal? Why?
2) Why did Elizabeth refuse Mr. Collins proposal?
3. After knowing that Elizabeth had meant what she said, what did Mr. Collins do?
4. Role play: Three rounds dialogues between Mr. Collins and Elizabeth

三、教學(xué)反思
本節(jié)課是借助于Chapter5的文本內(nèi)容,通過剖析主要人物Elizabeth, Mr. Collins 和Charlotte Lucas 的語言和行為,總結(jié)其人物性格特征和每個(gè)人的婚姻觀,最后引導(dǎo)學(xué)生分享自己的婚姻觀,達(dá)到啟發(fā)和育人的教學(xué)目標(biāo)。下面針對(duì)于本節(jié)課的收獲做一下反思:
收獲一:教學(xué)目標(biāo)引領(lǐng)整堂課。
本節(jié)課的所有環(huán)節(jié)都是為這兩個(gè)目標(biāo)而設(shè)計(jì)的。導(dǎo)入部分利用前四章主要內(nèi)容,讓學(xué)生對(duì)已讀作品內(nèi)容有個(gè)整體的把握,也為本章閱讀內(nèi)容的開展和閱讀任務(wù)的有效完成,做好了鋪墊;人物關(guān)系梳理,本節(jié)課定位為人物賞析課,人物關(guān)系的梳理必然是賞析開展順利最基本的保證;賞析語言和人物行為,人物的性格和婚姻觀淋漓盡致的體現(xiàn)在其語言和做事的方式方法中,學(xué)生找到問題的答案并不難,有難度的是需要在這些瑣碎的語言和事件中體會(huì)和提煉出人物的性格和對(duì)待婚姻的觀點(diǎn);學(xué)生觀點(diǎn)分享,這一環(huán)節(jié)是將學(xué)生從課堂中梳理的人物特點(diǎn)的基礎(chǔ)上闡述自己對(duì)待婚姻的觀點(diǎn),每個(gè)人的觀點(diǎn)有可能大不相同,因此教師給出了自己的理解,正確引導(dǎo)學(xué)生多讀書,使自己成為一名睿智的人,理智的對(duì)待自己的婚姻。
收獲二:問題設(shè)計(jì)環(huán)環(huán)相扣,步步為營。
教學(xué)目標(biāo)是一堂課的風(fēng)向標(biāo),那么問題的設(shè)計(jì)就是整堂課的一連串的路標(biāo),引領(lǐng)著學(xué)生經(jīng)過四十五分鐘的學(xué)習(xí),有效的達(dá)成既定的教學(xué)目標(biāo)。本節(jié)課核心問題只有六個(gè),但是在實(shí)際課堂行進(jìn)過程中會(huì)增加引領(lǐng)學(xué)生高階思維的追問。這些既定問題和追問都具有一定的連貫性和實(shí)用價(jià)值,有效引導(dǎo)學(xué)生從事實(shí)性信息的抓取到高階思維的深層次思考和理解,真正實(shí)現(xiàn)課堂上學(xué)生思維的高效進(jìn)行。
