同義句轉換是常見的考試題型，它不僅考查學生的詞匯量，更主要的是考查學生綜合運用英語的能力。其特點是，考查的知識點多，涉及面廣。同學們在解題時，可從以下幾方面人手：

一、用意義相同或相近的詞(組)、句式轉換

1．They had a good time atthe party。

They____at the party.

Have a good time其同義詞有enjoy oneself及play happily。另外，因本句時態(tài)為一般過去時，故本題答案可用enjoyed them selves或played happily。

2．What do you think of thefilm“True Lies”?do you thefilm?

詢問“認為……怎樣”有兩種方式：What…think of…？和How．…like…?所以本題的答案為How，like。

3．Shall we go tp play foot-ball?

——going to play football?

征詢對方意見且后面跟動詞—ing結構，本題可用What about或How about。

4．Why don't you go homeat once?

——go home at once?

Why don't you…?等于Whynot…?故本題應填Why not。

二、用意義相反的詞(組)、句式轉換

1．She's shorter than I．

She's____as____as I．

此題須用not as(so)…as…句型，所填形容詞須與原句詞義相反，即填not…tall．

2．I think art is less importantthan maths．

I think art is____importantthan maths．

此題須填意義恰好相反的don't和more兩個詞。

三、比較等級間的同義句轉換

Jim runs fastest in his class．

(1)Jim runs____than____studentin his class．

(2)Jim runs____than____the otherstudents in his class．

(3)____runs faster than Jim inhis class.

(4)____runs faster than Jim inhis class．

(5)____runs____fast____Jimin his class．

本題較全面地考查了比較級與最高級之間的同義轉換。①應填faster，any other；②填faster，any of③填No one else；④填No body else；⑤填Nobody else；as(so)；as。

四、主動語態(tài)與被動語態(tài)之間的同義句轉換

1．Did Xiao Hua look for thebook in the desk just now?

____the book____in the deskby Xiao Huajust now?

此句檢測的是一般過去時被動語態(tài)的用法，所以答案應為Was，looked for。

2．You must make him worktwelve hours a day． He must____made____twelvehours a day by you．

此題除必須考慮把含情態(tài)動詞的主動語態(tài)句子變?yōu)楸粍诱Z態(tài)外，還須考慮加上不可省略的to，故答案為be，to work。

五、直接引語與間接引語之間的轉換

1．The doctor said to Jim，“Do not drink too much．”

The doctor____Jim____drinktoo much．

本題中直接引語為祈使句，在改成間接引語時應將祈使句改為不定式結構，故此題答案為told，not to。

2．The young man asked“what call I do for you，Jane?”

The young man asked Jane____he____help____.

解答本題須注意時態(tài)、人稱及語序的變化，還須知道“Whatcan I do foryou?”，的另一種表達方式為“Can I help you?”，故本題的答案應為Whether／if，could，her。
