【Abstract】This paper discusses the characteristics of foreign advanced teaching material “Beyond the Target”， and fully exploit the use of this set of textbooks in teaching on students' learning strategy training practice.

English curriculum standard divides learning strategy into basic learning strategy， cognitive strategy， control strategy， communication strategy and resource strategy. Cognitive strategy refers to the steps and methods that students take to complete the task of learning. Control strategy refers to the students to learn to plan， implement， reflect， evaluate and adjust the strategy. Communication strategy is a variety of strategies for students to take in order to gain more opportunities for communication， to maintain communication and to improve the effectiveness of communication. Resource strategy is a reasonable and effective method for students to use multimedia to learn and use English. Learning strategies can not only improve the quality and effectiveness of English learning， reduce the burden of student learning， but also accord with the modern society advocated the idea of lifelong learning， so that students can be in after entering society truly independent of lifelong learning， and teaching strategies can promote each other and improve teaching efficiency. And the results also show that the less successful foreign language learners can learn from successful foreign language learners' learning strategies. This provides a theoretical basis for the training and training of students learning strategies in the classroom.

“Beyond the Target” is interesting， vivid， with strong sense of teaching contents. The textbook combines the structure， function and situation of each class， and each of the three units and interspersed with a reading difficulty slightly higher “Expansion”. Content close to life， from multiple aspects， reflect the students' learning life， hobbies and extracurricular activities， family life， desire aim， childlike， and rich flavor of the times. In the communicative activities， the language materials are real， but also pay attention to the structure of the form， so that the use of vocabulary， sentence patterns， spiral rise. “Beyond the Target” teaching is based on task based learning， students as the main body， to cultivate students' language communicative ability of the new teaching mode. In the process of teaching， students are required to pay attention to the exchange， to carry out the center of interactive teaching， so that students in the learning experience of success， are to produce a strong interest in English learning. Due to the impact of examination oriented education， in the past， a teacher is to speak more than half of the class， and then the students do exercises to consolidate the knowledge learned. This teaching system pay more attention to imparting knowledge and written exercises， and neglect listening and oral practice. So what students can master is “dumb English”； a lot of single and repeated practice and consolidation are emphasized in the teaching， which makes the students lose interest in English learning， and finally result in the loss of confidence in learning.

This set of textbooks “Beyond the Target” is student-centered learning in the teaching process， the teacher should pay attention to the communication with students， let the students to learn how to learn， mobilize and play the subjectivity of students， cultivate their communicative competence. So we have to change the past pure language knowledge to teach language ability training， fully embodies the principle of language communication， the teaching materials and language teaching as a carrier， to improve the quality of students. We let the students listen to or say not only to master a few words and phrases， but to let students have the ability to obtain useful information. In addition， I often cleverly designed some Speaking activities， such as arranging students telling stories and skits， or ask the students to guess to learn an article etc.. Through these activities to import， not only cultivate a good habit of thinking of students， but also stimulate their interest in reading. At the same time， the students learn by looking at the title， picture to understand the main idea of the article and how to find the topic sentence， guessing the meaning of new words through the context of reading skills. Students in the learning process for their most basic learning strategies and cognitive strategies will let students learn a lot， often there will be little effect. Therefore， I always pay attention to the training and training of students in the process of education and teaching at ordinary times.

Of course， at the beginning of a considerable part of the students， especially before the no preview habits of students do not perform well even discarded. To this end， I organized a small talk about learning strategies， talk about their experience in learning English. To give students a clear understanding of the significance of the preview， so that students understand that in the allocation of time， saving time is more important than saving the time of the students. If the students do some things outside the classroom， teachers have more time in clas. Tell the truth， classroom should always check the preview seriously in the classroom can actively participate in the activities， the student who answered the question， at any time to praise and make the classroom learning more effective.

The famous psychologist Bruner's “cognitive discovery theory” that the study is not a passive form of mechanical stimulus response coupling， but active formation of cognitive structure and initiative， Bruner attaches great importance to people who believed that students and scientists of intellectual activity is essentially the same， whether a concept is to solve the master a problem that a scientific theory is an active process. Therefore， he strongly advocated the discovery of law， the so-called discovery method is to allow students to think independently， restructuring materials， to discover knowledge， to master the principles and principles. As much as possible to enable students to become independent and automatic thinkers. Obviously， teachers play a very important role in students' learning initiative and independent thinking habits. In this textbook， whether it is the import stage， is put forward in the process of reading， or each unit of your turn， as long as I ask questions， I will give the students enough time， require students to independent learning， independent thinking. In particular， some of the knowledge involved in many other disciplines， I will arrange a panel discussion， of course， also to give sufficient time， rather than to give the answer.
