        How to improve the oral English communication level of rural students

        English as a language, it is the first tool for people to communicate. Our ultimate goal in teaching English is to enable students to use the tool to communicate with others. However, due to various reasons, leading to the rural middle school students oral expression ability is very not ideal, students dare not say, also do not want to say, afraid of mistakes, but also afraid of being laughed at. As an English teacher in rural school, I am very worried about the students poor spoken English. How to improve the rural junior middle school students English oral communication level? I combine my own teaching experience, talk about some of the following effective coping strategies.

        1to encourage students to overcome the shy psychological bold exchange

        Rural junior high school students say the biggest obstacle to English is shy, often in front of others ashamed to speak, afraid of their own mistakes and lose face. Students did not dare to speak English, oral English level is not high, gradually formed a vicious circle, our English is always silent, not to any increase. So, I in the English teaching, conscious guide students overcome shyness, encourage students to boldly exchanges, in and out of the classroom into groups to introduce myself, my English name, age, school, family members,, in fact, the language for us are easily spoken English. But because usually do not often speak in class, so it is difficult to open. We are going to change this mind, and express ourselves in English. We interact with each other, and slowly spoken English is much smoother.

        2 strict requirements

        To encourage students to speak English at the same time, I also pay much attention to the accuracy of pronunciation and intonation in teaching. Before because I ignored the pronunciation and intonation of students learning. As a result, students often appear “out of tune” phenomenon, affecting the oral expression ability. To this end, in teaching, I first solve the pronunciation of the word. I follow the teaching requirements, with a higher standard to guide students to master. After the students have a certain vocabulary, I properly designed some pronunciation exercises.

        3 to strengthen the listening and reading training

        Listening is the main way to acquire the language information and language perception, and it is the premise of oral communication. In the classroom teaching, I insist on Teaching in English, to provide students with a large number of oral English teachers, to facilitate students to imitate, stimulate students desire to speak English, and improve the students interest in learning english. As long as the teachers insist on speaking English, students will gradually improve the ability to listen, speak English also has a guarantee.         4 to expand the channels of oral communication

        School classroom only provides a platform for students oral English communication, social life is the major stage of oral communication in English. Therefore, we must extend the oral communication to the outside of the class. Encourage students to communicate with their parents, friends, and social interaction. Let the students learn to choose different content carefully spoken English communication according to different occasions, such as polite language and everyday language, call, ask for directions, shopping, etc. Let students to improve oral English communication ability in practice.

        Anyway, to improve oral English communicative competence in various ways, not to stick to one pattern, as long as we work hard to learn English, feel English, we will to learn English very impressive.
