京杭大運(yùn)河的開(kāi)鑿和貫通，是先人在工業(yè)化到來(lái)之前通過(guò)與自然不斷斗爭(zhēng)最終與其和諧相處的產(chǎn)物，是我國(guó)乃至世界重要且珍貴的物質(zhì)與文化遺產(chǎn)匯集廊道。我國(guó)的大運(yùn)河是世界唯一保留原始功能的“活態(tài)”遺產(chǎn)，至今依然承載著現(xiàn)代生活中灌溉、貨運(yùn)、泄洪和水資源調(diào)配的原始功能。如何讓大運(yùn)河延續(xù)“活態(tài)”并保持活力，系統(tǒng)性、整體性地保護(hù)大運(yùn)河，使其更好地向世界展示中華文明，是后續(xù)保護(hù)工作中面臨的最大挑戰(zhàn)。

團(tuán)隊(duì)提出了以“空間基因”視角深入挖掘京杭大運(yùn)河自身存在的空間、景觀、歷史、文化特征及其演進(jìn)、傳承的關(guān)系。通過(guò)整體性研究，尋找不同地域文化下京杭大運(yùn)河遺產(chǎn)傳承的共性，以期更好地對(duì)運(yùn)河遺產(chǎn)做出整體性、完整性、連續(xù)性的保護(hù)與活化利用。挖掘共性中的個(gè)性，突出表現(xiàn)運(yùn)河遺產(chǎn)保護(hù)的唯一性和不可復(fù)制性，同時(shí)也彰顯不同區(qū)域不同城市的特色魅力，為城市特色空間基因的挖掘、歷史文化演進(jìn)規(guī)律的再現(xiàn)、歷史記憶的恢復(fù)以及地方情感的維系奠定基礎(chǔ)。在杭州、嘉興、常州等城市的運(yùn)河沿線規(guī)劃實(shí)踐中，對(duì)空間基因技術(shù)在運(yùn)河遺產(chǎn)保護(hù)與利用中的應(yīng)用進(jìn)行了探索?！?/p>

The excavation and opening of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is a product of our ancestors'continuous struggle with nature before the advent of industrialization and their eventual harmonious coexistence with it.It is an important and precious corridor of material and cultural heritage in China and even in the world.China's Grand Canal is the only ＂living＂ heritage in the world that has retained its original functions, which still carries the original functions of irrigation, freight transportation,flood relief and water resource allocation in modern life.How to keep the Grand Canal ＂alive＂ and vibrant, protect the Grand Canal systematically and holistically, and allow it to better demonstrate Chinese civilisation to the world is the biggest challenge in the subsequent conservation work.

The team proposes to deeply explore the spatial, landscape, historical and cultural characteristics of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and their evolution and inheritance from the perspective of the ＂space gene＂.Through holistic research, the team search for the commonality of the heritage inheritance of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal under different regional cultures, with a view to better protecting and utilising the heritage of the canal in a holistic, complete and continuous manner.By exploring the individuality in the commonality, the uniqueness and irreproducibility of the canal heritage protection are highlighted.At the same time, the characteristic charms of different cities in different regions are also manifested, so as to establish a foundation for the excavation of the space gene of the urban characteristics, the reproduction of the laws of historical and cultural evolution,the restoration of the historical memories as well as the maintenance of the local sentiments.The application of the space gene in the protection and utilisation of canal heritage has been explored in the planning practice along the canals in Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Changzhou and other cities.□
