In the UK,the aim of primary school education is for children to enjoy their time at school and to develop knowledge,understanding andvaluesin order to reach their fullpotentialin allacademicand social areas of school life.The primary school PEcurriculumoffers arangeof sports includinggymnastics,basketball,swimming and outdoorbased activities such as football andathletics.

在英國，小學(xué)教育的目標(biāo)是讓孩子們享受在學(xué)校的時(shí)光，增長知識(shí)、提高理解力和形成價(jià)值觀，以便他們?cè)趯W(xué)校的學(xué)習(xí)和交往過程中發(fā)揮其全部潛能。小學(xué)體育課程包括一系列運(yùn)動(dòng)項(xiàng)目，如體操、籃球、游泳及戶外的足球和田徑等活動(dòng)。

Primary school students need to learn how to plan,perform andevaluateactions,and to improve theirqualityandeffectiveness.Through thisprocess,students will discover theiraptitudesand preferences,and make choices about how to get involved in lifelong physical activity.

小學(xué)生需要學(xué)習(xí)如何計(jì)劃、執(zhí)行和評(píng)估行動(dòng)，學(xué)習(xí)如何提高自身素養(yǎng)和做事的效率。通過這個(gè)過程，學(xué)生們會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)自己的才能和喜好，并決定如何參與終身體育活動(dòng)。

Theemphasisof PE lessons is placed on the development of the ABCs (Agility,Balance,Coordinationand Speed) as children progress through the Lower Primary and Upper Primary School.Most of the British educationists believe that every student has the ability to find and can achieve an activity which they enjoy.The curriculum PE is fully focused on making sure that all students enjoy sport and value the importance of living a healthy,active lifestyle.

隨著兒童從小學(xué)低年段升入小學(xué)高年段，體育課的重點(diǎn)隨之放在了基本能力（靈活、平衡、協(xié)調(diào)和速度）的發(fā)展上。絕大多數(shù)英國教育學(xué)家認(rèn)為，每個(gè)學(xué)生都有能力找到并完成他們喜歡的活動(dòng)。體育課程致力于確保所有學(xué)生都喜歡運(yùn)動(dòng)，重視健康和積極的生活方式。

While the focus of PE lessons is on the fun and enjoyment of playing sport,there are regularopportunitiesto compete in inter-housecompetitions,sports days,and swimminggalas.

雖然體育課的重點(diǎn)是發(fā)現(xiàn)運(yùn)動(dòng)的樂趣并享受運(yùn)動(dòng)，但學(xué)生經(jīng)常有參加室內(nèi)比賽、體育節(jié)和游泳盛會(huì)的機(jī)會(huì)。

Maybe you would think that PE lessons must be taught in English definitely in the UK.However,in some primary schools,there are many students coming from China,so PE lessons in these primary schools arepartiallytaught in Chinese.

也許你會(huì)認(rèn)為，英國體育課一定要用英語授課。然而，在一些小學(xué)，有許多來自中國的學(xué)生，所以這些小學(xué)的體育課部分用中文授課。

Are textbooks used in PE lessons in the primary schools in the UK? The answer is “NO”.In the UK,all the curriculums,including PE,are not textbook based,though the teachers may use a range of books to support the teaching and learningon occasion.They focus more on group and paired work to teach the skills of how to learn.

英國小學(xué)體育課是否使用教科書？答案是“否”。在英國，包括體育在內(nèi)的所有課程都不是以教科書為基礎(chǔ)的，盡管教師有時(shí)可能會(huì)使用一系列書籍來支持教學(xué)。教師們更專注在小組和配對(duì)合作中教授學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的技能。
