【教學(xué)目標】

1.通過快速閱讀和細致閱讀，梳理文章中Andrew的DIY嘗試和結(jié)果。

2.通過深入閱讀，對文章進行批判性思考，進一步分析理解Andrew的個人品質(zhì)和失敗的原因。

3.體會作者的寫作意圖，認識到在生活中應(yīng)該樂于動手，大膽體驗并勇于接受他人的意見。

【教學(xué)流程】

一、巧設(shè)課堂主線，激發(fā)學(xué)生興趣

T:Yesterday we learned something about DIY.Do you remember what“DIY”exactly mean?

S（together）:Yes.It means do it yourself.

T:I am really crazy about DIY.Do you know the meaning of“crazy”?These are what I made with my little daughter.They are very interesting right?Do you like DIY?

S（together）:Yes.

T:OK.You all like DIY.So why not join my DIY Club and make something by yourselves?If you want to join my club,you need to finish some tasks.

S:He thought the living room was boring,so he painted it blue.His mum said“stop it”,but he kept on painting.Now the living room has not only the blue walls but also a blue ceiling,even his cat is blue.

T:How did his mum feel at that moment？Why?

S:His mum was very angry,because she said“stop it”.

T:Can you read it with your feeling?

S:Stop it！

T:How did Suzy feel at that moment?How do you know?

S:Suzy was very surprised.Because she said“even”his cat is blue！She can’t believe it.

S:I think Suzy was very angry.Because she said“not only”blue walls“but also”a blue ceiling.She also uses the exclamation mark here.

T:Who can read this sentence with your strong feelings?

S:No.He was very angry.He says he already knowseverythingabout DIY.

T:Why was Andrew angry?

S:Because he istoo proud.

T:Yes.He is over-confident and tooproud.

T:What did Suzy do at last?

S（together）:She is reading all the books and attending lessons herself.Now she knows more about DIY than Andrew.

四、深入解讀文本,賞析文章語言

T:Wow,you have moved onto Task 2.Do you like the story?Do you think it is a good story?Why?

S（together）:Yes.Becauseit is sointeresting.

T:What makes the story so interesting？Please discussin groups.

S:Because the examples in the article are so special and interesting.

S:Because the writer uses the conjunction,ad?verbs and exclamation marks.

T:Yes.And you know although Andrew is cra?zy about DIY,but he isn’t good at it.And Suzy now does better than Andrew in DIY right?This is called contrast.

五、探究主題意義,落實立德樹人

T:Now you have a better understanding of An?drew.Here is your third task.What do you think of Andrew?Why?

S:I think he is helpful and warm-hearted,be?causewhen Suzy need a shelf,he helped her.

S:I think he is over-confident,because he thinks he knows everything about DIY.But no one can know everything about something.

S:I think he is persistent,because he never givesup.

T:Yes,you see Andrew is persistent but why did Andrew fail all thetime?

S:He is over-confident and he didn’t listen to other’s advice.

S:He is crazy about DIY,but in fact he knows littleabout DIY.

T:Andrew always failed in DIY.Why didn’t hegive up?

S(together):DIY is so interesting.He can feel happy from making things.

T:How to do DIY well?

S:We should read more books or take a course about DIY.

S:We should listen to other’s advice and learn fromeach other.

S:We should be patient,persistent and never give up.

T:OK.You see if you want to be successful in DIY,you should have interest,persistence and right ways.And remember“l(fā)isten to other’s ad?vice”.

T:Boys and girls,now you know Andrew’s ad?vantages and problems,and you also know how to do DIY well.So why not make an advice card to Andrew and help him do DIY better.This is your fourth task.If you want Andrew to accept your ad?vice,you should tell him his advantages first,right?And try to make your card beautiful and attractive.OK,let’sdo it.

【教學(xué)反思】

本節(jié)課筆者從以下幾個方面引領(lǐng)學(xué)生探究文本的主題意義，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生正確的人生觀、價值觀，凸顯英語學(xué)科育人價值。

一、分析人物個性，反思自身性格

通過對Andrew四次DIY嘗試的逐個分析，學(xué)生能夠從主人公的言行中感受到他對愛好的執(zhí)著。Andrew身上有著許多令人敬佩的閃光點，但也存在許多問題：過于自信，甚至有些自大，拒絕接受他人意見，做事不考慮后果，最終導(dǎo)致他接連失敗。學(xué)生從主人公的言行中自然而然地感受到他的優(yōu)缺點，形成客觀評價。同時，在分析Andrew性格的過程中，學(xué)生逐步理解Andrew接連失敗的原因，得出DIY成功的方法，并反思自身性格的優(yōu)缺點，做到“有則改之，無則加勉”。

二、賞析文本語言，提升育人效果

本文具有很強的可讀性和趣味性。文章運用了多種表達方式和修辭手法，讓學(xué)生在閱讀有趣故事的同時，領(lǐng)悟文本深意，從而收到育人效果。比如文章在談到Andrew把家里都涂成藍色的時候，用了副詞even，學(xué)生能從中感受到Su?zy和Andrew媽媽驚訝和氣憤的情緒，意識到An?drew的DIY創(chuàng)作給家人帶來了很大的麻煩。

三、聯(lián)系生活實際，滲透體驗教育

主人公Andrew屢敗屢戰(zhàn)，說明DIY有著令人著迷的獨特魅力。它可以豐富動手者的想象力、創(chuàng)造力，培養(yǎng)動手者的注意力；也可以讓動手者享受自己動手的過程，產(chǎn)生極大的滿足感和愉悅感。本節(jié)課最后，筆者鼓勵學(xué)生給An?drew制作建議卡片，幫助Andrew分析問題，找到正確的DIY方法。筆者還引導(dǎo)學(xué)生大膽創(chuàng)新，放手制作，盡力裝飾自己的建議卡片。在學(xué)生初步享受DIY樂趣時，筆者適時鼓勵他們在日常生活中也可以自己動手做一些事情，充分體驗DIY的樂趣。
