        The Application of MOOC Exploratory Learning in Secondary Vocational School English Class Teaching

        1. Research background and significance

        Secondary vocational education is an important part of Chinas education, and some requirements on English learning have been put forward. However, in the process of modern education development, the English teaching level in secondary vocational education field is not assured. In order to promote the smooth execution of secondary vocational English teaching reform, the active application of teaching methods like MOOC can effectively improve the English teaching level. Based on the actual work experience and related literature, the author analyzes the methods of English teaching reform in secondary vocational schools, hoping to see a substantial improvement on English Teaching level in secondary vocational schools.

        Although secondary vocational education is an important part in Chinas education system, neither teaching facilities or teaching staffs are qualified and present some hysteresis, and the English teaching is not exceptional. In order to make the reform of secondary vocational English education launch smoothly, the MOOC mode can be actively used, to deepen education level, promote the reform, so that the English teaching level in secondary vocational schools can be guaranteed.

        2. The actual situation of English teaching reform in secondary vocational school

        2.1 The renewal of education notion is very slow

        The slow update of education notion is a common problem in current teaching reform in secondary vocational schools. A smooth reform requires the change of thoughts firstly, although changes of thoughts do happen in the secondary vocational schools English teaching, the speed can not meet the reform need, and can not meet the need of time development as well, which will then form an ideological hysteresis. The ideological hysteresis will cause certain influence on the implementation of reform program and application of reform methods, and then produce some negative effects in the English teaching reform. For the problems encountered in the process of English teaching reform in secondary vocational schools, in order to ensure the speed of reform and promote the successful completion of reform, the renewal of ideas should be fulfilled in a short time.

        2.2 Single teaching mode

        The single teaching mode is also obvious in secondary vocational English teaching at present. The purpose of vocational English teaching is to fully exert the effectiveness of English; in other words, after a period of training in secondary vocational schools, students should possess basic English ability. But the current teaching mode is generally instill teaching method, which requires students to listen to teachers explanation passively. In real practice, this teaching mode can not guarantee the active classroom atmosphere, nor can it assure the development of students comprehensive ability,. Therefore the students with this teaching mode present a low level of practical application. The reform of teaching methods should be fully concerned.

        3. The effect of MOOC application in English Teaching in secondary vocational schools

        3.1 Remedying the defects of teachers level by MOOC

        From the perspective of teaching staffs, the strength of Secondary Vocational English teachers can not meet the requirements of modern English teaching, and teachers overall quality can not guarantee students learning effect as well. During the application of MOOC teaching mode, students can actively listen to the courses by famous teachers on the Internet. After receiving the superior teachers work, students learning level will be further improved. This teaching mode can break the boundaries of time and space, make scientific and reasonable distribution of teaching resources, and then solve the problems of shortage of qualified teachers, and guarantee the English teaching level.

        3.2 Innovating teaching methods by MOOC

        In the past English Teaching in secondary vocational always adopts the traditional teaching methods, which makes the classroom atmosphere depressed. The students will continue the class teaching mode to learn English, which finally produces the dumb English. For this problem, the application of MOOC can make some breakthroughs in the teaching method. The remote network teaching of MOOC is also a training for students listening. Besides, the teachers of MOOC are generally reputed teachers, who not only accumulate rich practical experience, but also can flexibly use various teaching methods in the teaching process, which can improve the single teaching mode situation, and finally greatly improves the English teaching level and the efficiency. This makes a contribution in the process of secondary vocational education development of our country.

        4. The function of exploratory learning method

        In the practical application of exploratory learning mode, preview is a basic content, and it is important to students self learning as well. Suchomlinsky once mentions that independent learning time is the time controlled by students, and the students can only become the subject of learning when the time is controlled by them. This is the prerequisite for students individual development. The independent learning time will facilitate the successful application of exploratory learning methods. Before assigning tasks, the teachers should leave some open research problems and sufficient learning time for students. For students, only after they have completed the preview, can they ensure the learning base, and find out problems during active exploration, so that to improve the classroom teaching efficiency greatly.

        5. Application methods of exploratory learning

        The teachers need to design fresh topics to fully stimulate students interest in learning. A good beginning is half of success, the fresh topics are an important prerequisite for classroom learning. If teachers can use the excellent class lead-in methods, then in the initial stage, they can firmly grasp students attention and fully stimulate students interest in learning. This is a very important thing in learning English in secondary vocational schools. The class lead-in should be fully paid attention to, the introduced content should be closely linked to the teaching content. If fresh topics are applied, then the affect of traditional old learning content can be eliminated, for example a movie or a story can begin a lead-in. Before the formal teaching, the teachers can take students learning situation as basis, to fully inspire the learning enthusiasm and initiative, so that to guarantee the classroom learning efficiency and effect.
