【教學(xué)目標(biāo)】

1.能在自主閱讀語篇的基礎(chǔ)上整體理解課文和復(fù)述課文，掌握一定的閱讀技巧。

2.能準(zhǔn)確掌握和運(yùn)用本課的重點(diǎn)單詞、短語、句型和語法。

3.能運(yùn)用自己的語言表達(dá)Spud Webb為實(shí)現(xiàn)夢想永不放棄的歷程。

4.從Spud Webb為實(shí)現(xiàn)夢想永不放棄的故事中激勵(lì)自己。

【教學(xué)重點(diǎn)】

1.了解Spud Webb的成長歷程。

2.掌握一些新詞匯和短語：unior high， try out for sth， lose heart， change ones mind， succeed in doing sth， ake notice of等。

【教學(xué)難點(diǎn)】

1.能靈活運(yùn)用一些新句型：（1）While attending junior high， Spud tried out for the school team， but he was refused to play at first because he was too small.（2）When he finally got the chance， he scored 20 points in his first game.（3）Through hard work， Spud Webb proved that size and body type really does not matter— you can do almost anything if you never give up.

2.培養(yǎng)學(xué)生積極向上、永不言棄的頑強(qiáng)意志和優(yōu)良品質(zhì)。

【教學(xué)過程】

Step 1 Warming up and lead-in

1.出示有關(guān)NBA籃球運(yùn)動(dòng)員圖片，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生觀察圖片，并進(jìn)行思考。

（1）How much do you know about playing basketball？

（2）Are you good at it？

（3）Whos your favourite basketball player？

（通過出示圖片引導(dǎo)學(xué)生聚焦有關(guān)NBA，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生從籃球運(yùn)動(dòng)中找到認(rèn)知的切入點(diǎn)和生成點(diǎn)，增強(qiáng)他們的整體理解感知綜合運(yùn)用能力。）

2.Show some picture of Yao Ming .

教師介紹：This is Yao Ming .How tall he is ！He played in the NBA. Many People like him .What do you think to make a good basketball player？

（1） Does a basketball player need to practise a lot？

（2） Basketball players are usually very tall， arent they？

（3） If you were a reporter， what would you like to say with Yao Ming？

（從學(xué)生熟悉的籃球運(yùn)動(dòng)員——姚明中，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生就相關(guān)的問題進(jìn)行思考，鼓勵(lì)他們從名人的成長經(jīng)歷中深化思考。）

Step 2 Presentation

1.教師導(dǎo)入：Today were going to learn about another NBA player . The NBA player is only 1.69M， he is called Spud

（土豆）。In 1986， “dunk contest”， from the “human film essence” Dominic Wilkins hands， won the “dunk king” title， become the legend of NBA。His name is Spud Webb .

2. Teacher says：What do you know about Spud Webb？

What do you think Spud Webb is like？

（通過介紹Spud Webb請學(xué)生關(guān)注相應(yīng)的信息，引導(dǎo)他們進(jìn)行深入閱讀。）

3.Read the article about Spud Webb on pages 50 and 51 quickly.

Step 3 Talk about the article

1. 請學(xué)生在自我整體閱讀課文的基礎(chǔ)上圈劃出自己遇到的新的詞匯、短語。

2. 請學(xué)生運(yùn)用同桌交流的方式，就“How do you understand the phrase？” 進(jìn)行相互問答，幫助他們形成一定的自我感知能力。

3. 師生問答：

（1） When and where was Spud Webb born？（In Texas in 1963）

（2）What was his big dream？（He wanted to play in the NBA）

Step 4 Activities

1.Ask the students finish the exercises B3 on page 53， then ask the two students to read the whole dialogue and check the answers.

2.Group discuss

（1）Why does Spud Webb like playing basketball？

（2）What did Spud Webb for playing basketball？

（3）What else do you know about Spud Webb？

（4）If you meet Spud Webb， what would you like to say him？

（圍繞Spud Webb，讓學(xué)生在自我互動(dòng)交流中發(fā)現(xiàn)相應(yīng)的內(nèi)容，引導(dǎo)他們就各自的閱讀發(fā)現(xiàn)主動(dòng)梳理相應(yīng)的認(rèn)識(shí)，幫助他們帶著問題研讀語篇。）

3.Action

請學(xué)生扮演教材中人物角色進(jìn)行對話，鼓勵(lì)他們就自己的閱讀感知收獲進(jìn)行現(xiàn)場采訪。

4.請學(xué)生就自己在閱讀中發(fā)現(xiàn)的新句型與其他同學(xué)交流，幫助他們能夠圍繞句型格式、運(yùn)用方法等方面進(jìn)行對話。

Step 5 Make a speech

請學(xué)生圍繞“What do I learn from Spud Webb？”主題，主動(dòng)登臺(tái)演講，讓他們能夠根據(jù)自己的閱讀理解進(jìn)行表達(dá)，展示自己的情感態(tài)度和審美價(jià)值觀。

Step 6 Homework

1.識(shí)記本篇課文的新單詞、短語和句型。

2.能準(zhǔn)確流利朗讀和背誦本課文。
