        A Study of Teacher’s Roles in Classroom Teaching

        【Abstract】teacher plays a significant and irreplaceable part in education. this paper demonstrates the multiple roles that teachers play,especially teachers in the process of classroom teaching. good teacher never works as mere deliverer of information,but take on the roles as mentor,Organizer,Resource Person,controller,psychologist,models,assessor.

        1. Introduction

        As more and more people attach great importance to education,the schools play more important role in today society. famous teacher not only teach the knowledge very good but also can help students the way to improve the efficiency of their study which faculities can not replace. The roles of language teachers at higher institutions need to be re-defined as modern technologies,curriculum development,job market and education reform influence their roles(Latisha Asmaak Shafie,Surina Nayan.2010:1). most teachers saw themselves as filling multiple roles and revealed that these were defined based on the following perspectives:how teachers plan and conduct teaching activities,what they want to emphasise and achieve in teaching and their relationships with their students and work environment. These findings suggest that teachers individual cultural backgrounds,personal experiences and contextual factors all contribute to variations in their beliefs about their roles(Li Wang;Xiangyun Du.2016).

        2. Roles of the teachers

        2.1 Organizer

        Teaching is an organization of learning. Thus it follows that a teacher is essentially an organizer. The task of any organizer is to enable a group and the individuals in it to function effectively together for the achievement of a common purpose. This is precisely your proper role as a teacher.

        2.2 Assessor

        Then,the teacher as assessor is also critical for teacher. Because it is clear that a major part of a teachers job is to assess the students work,to gauge how well they are performing or how well they performed.

        2.3 Resource Person

        The resource role implies that the students take the initiative to come to the teacher and the teacher is ready to offer advice and counsel whenever the students seek it.

        2.4 Controller

        As sometimes expected in traditional education institutions,the teacher plays the role of master controller when he is always in charge of every moment in the classroom.

        2.5 Psychologistendprint

        In fact,when teaching,teacher often plays a role of a psychologist. He should treat each student equally so that the students receive s sense of security and produce cooperation.

        2.6 Model

        Teachers typically do not think of themselves as role models,however,inadvertently they are. Students spend a great deal of time with their teacher and therefore,the teacher becomes a role model to them. This can be a positive or negative effect depending on the teacher.

        3. How do the teachers play the roles

        3.1 Strengthen teacher management

        There are many adult students have a clear understanding of learning and hope have learned not only novel,but also practical. This made for education adult teachers is different from the general education requirements of teachers - not only the requirements of adult education teachers with strong professional knowledge,but also has a wealth of practical experience for adult students with practical experience,be able to conduct in-depth thinking,they want teachers to teach students when to introduce the subject of the new results,new theories,but also innovative,have unique perspectives,be good at guiding students to apply knowledge to solve problems encountered in practice,teaching and learning at home can use study in order that students can enter a positive learning state,Students continue to learn in order to stimulate desire.The teachers were largely positioned as responsible for structure and accountability,as they prioritized monitoring student behavior toward clear expectations(Shira Eve Epstein.2013:1)

        3.2 Improve teaching methods

        To carefully study adult learning psychology and hobbies,according to the education characteristics,in teaching methods emphasize to guide students,‘to ask questions,to discover,to enjoy. To strengthen the self-learning and practical activities of the guidance,the teaching of theoretical knowledge at the same time,so that students will learn to change by the Institute,reflecting the ‘student-centered thinking.

        4. Conclusion

        Education is a vital instrument for national development. The importance of teachers in making process of education possible and successful is inevitable. They are nation builders;hence,any national development hinges on the abilities of the teachers to meet the challenges.
