【Abstract】Marriage and love is the eternal topic of human， which everyone must to face， no matter in which country and what race. This essay will discuss different values of marriage and love in different countries based on cross-cultural settings.

Views about marriage and love are divided into three kinds； they are practical， romantic and religion or race oriented， and referenced countries are China， the U.S.， Japan， Korea， German， India， and few South Africa countries.

1.Practical--oriented marriage

Some Southwest countries view the material conditions more important than love， where people treat money， big house， expensive cars， and huge social status as the standers to choose a satisfied partner.

Based on a hot discussion in newspapers， nowadays men in Beijing， without eating or drinking for 12 years， one could have the economic capacity of a woman of medium conditions； in the north of Harbin， a condition in the upper married （college degree， build looks good， stable work） wife require 700 thousand Yuan. Today， the house of the man without the eyes of some women is hardly a man. In China today， love is not worth a house. In Some womens minds， a block of house weighs heavier than hundreds of Princes Charming.

In Japan， When we talk about Japanese views on marriage， the first thought is saying： "女は 愛(ài)嬌.” What does the sentence mean？ It means that women must be lovely. Must be "like a woman"， these words and the "manly men have" a reason， sounds like a matter of course. In fact this argument itself contains a meaning of sex discrimination. The so-called "elephant man" or "like a woman" standard， is the agricultural society in the social division of labor and family division of labor， mapped to the product of social and moral. That time， women affiliated with men and women depends on the fate of adult men of good and evil， therefore， the education of young women braced with the requirements of many men. "Woman to be lovely，" the standard is so handed down from ancient times. And， this is a lovely man， we think， in other words， that women started to develop from an early age adapt to man's habit of preparing for the marriage. Therefore， this sentence is like old times in China， "a woman's virtue to be ignorant，" saying the same men the shackles imposed on a woman. Korean views on marriage to a recent statistics show the average Korean male age at first marriage of 31 years for women 28 years old. Caused by Koreans "late marriage，" even the biggest reason is economic. In the face of economic pressure， more and younger Koreans changed the traditional view of marriage. They began to send hope to enhance the quality of life through marriage， among the higher social strata. So for them， marriage will gradually evolve into a tricky investment. Stock into a dowry in Korean society， the recent emergence of a "marriage tech" new word， its origin is the Chinese character of "marriage" and English "technology". "Marriage tech" became a popular term to fully highlight the marriage of young people in Korea is changing.

2.Romantic--oriented Marriage

In the United States， the latest poll， regardless of how high the divorce rate， marriage is a very American quality. 90% of people said that my next life would discuss with the husband or wife is now "married"， indicating most Americans are very satisfied with their spouses， love index is quite high standards for American girls to find friends： interest， humor， muscles in the poll， when asked to choose a spouse， a successful marriage， what is the most important factor， the sequence is： 49% choose to respect， trust 37% choose ， 10% choose humor， 2% selectivity， 0% choose money. Americans of this family， marriage， may lead to a lot of Asians， especially Chinese， surprised. In China， the choice of spouse， money， status is one of the most important indicators.

A neglect of family sense in France has been creating many social problems. There is also a social phenomenon in France is the concern that young people in France do not just love the concept of marriage. Perhaps due to growing social pressure， the concept of thinking gradually diversified， France is popular among young people not only fall in love get married， or living together without marriage， there are a large part of even married and do not generations.

German is quite rich， so it do not exist "marry rich" concept like China. Everyone is independent， without whom no one still lives well. Therefore， the Germans pay more attention to the feeling. One thinks， feels good， try permanence； feel bad， and the heels leave.

3.Religion or race--oriented marriage

Most of the people in India still is practiced polygamy， which woman is the victim of marriage， is said to about a quarter of the women forced to have sex after marriage， and those who look forward to the women in this marriage I am afraid to leave the marriage after the aftermath of this life are difficult to cure India， marriage is religious， caste and other factors combined. Marriage between paganism is basically impossible， the same religious marriage between the different sects difficult to make the trip. Not to mention the caste system， high caste women can still marry lower caste， lower caste women are the majority only concubine， although into the giants， the situation may not be good. Those lower caste men as married high-caste woman， the child becomes a pariah， lost all political rights， and had to knock on wood from different， lonely life. It shows that early modern marriage in India is difficult to achieve freedom. When the pace of modernization of India's progress with time， in the old country while the system was gradually weakened， but some remain in the Indians thought the bone marrow， the unwitting stayed， resulting in India today traditional marriage.

African wedding was a family matter， family life， combining the two， two， sometimes even two communities！ Marriage is sacred， outside Africa， because it strengthens the relationship between wealth brought new life and new hope to communities and nations. Human Alliance and the woman is a natural continuation of life celebrations. Marriage is the only known function of the balance of society woman raising a child incubator. Often times the background inquiry is made when the brides family knows nothing or knows little of the groom's family. If they are satisfied and pleased with what they find out， they will send a list of things to the groom and his family to provide before they can marry the bride.
