Friend， what a powerful word！ If you dont have friends in life， you will not possess happiness. Im lucky to have such a precious friend in my life， Jeff. He is a kind-hearted boy and he is always ready to help others. We have known each other for more than 3 years. Jeff is 11 years old， whos just one month younger than me. Jeff is not so tall but strong. He likes sports very much， and so do I. Our first meeting was through fencing.

A friend in need is a friend indeed. Jeff and I often help each other. Hes good at history， and he often helps me with it. Whenever I have problems in learning history， he always explains them in detail to me. I often lend some books to Jeff， as my mom bought me a plenty of books. We are great partners when?doing sports; we always do brilliant teamwork in competitions offencing， speech and recitation.

There was an unforgettable memory between Jeff and me，which happened last summer holiday. During that period， we hada pretty difficult fencing competition in Jinjiang， Fujian. However，I had problems when I was in the first round. The opponent wasreally tall and strong， so I got scared when I looked at the score，which was 1 7. I was far behind the opponent. “Can I win？” Iasked myself. At that time， Jeffs voice came to me， “Come on，you can do it！” Soon I calmed down gradually and won the matchat last.

So this is my best friend， who always gives me courage and confidence.
