More and more Chinese young people in cities are traveling with their pets forfun. Wei Ren, 29, often takes his dachshund1 along for traveling to countryside inHangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

“Dogs enjoy the fields2 and clear rivers in the countryside and need to playwith other dogs as well. It feels very different to walk the dog in such a place youcan’t find in a big city,”says Wei.
“狗喜歡農(nóng)村的田野和清澈的河流,也需要和其他狗一起玩。在一個(gè)大城市里找不到的地方遛狗,感覺很不一樣?!蔽喝收f。
He says pet owners like to talk about their dog-raising experiences. It’sinteresting to hear people share their different life stories as well, and he can makemore friends. He stays overnight at a campsite3 and sometimes lives in a minsu,where the room is full of pet things and has a small doghouse.

More young Chinese are traveling with their pets, and while there arerestrictions4 on keeping dogs as pets or traveling with them in cities, they want toenjoy themselves in places more friendly to both humans and pets.
