今天早上我醒來后，在床上賴了一會(huì)兒，想接著睡，可最后還是爬起來下樓，給自己做了點(diǎn)早餐。星期六上午8：00之前電視上都沒什么好節(jié)目，于是我決定趁這個(gè)時(shí)候來做我那份兒家務(wù)。This morning after I woke up,I lay in bed for while trying to get back to sleep.Eventually,I just went downstairs and made myself some breakfast.There’s nothing good on TV befor 8:00 on a Saturday morning,so I decided to get some of my chores over with.

羅德里克和我從來就什么都買不起，所以老媽就讓我們倆干家務(wù)活掙零花錢。我需要做的其中一項(xiàng)家務(wù)就是給飯廳里的家具除灰。我今早就在干這個(gè)的時(shí)候，聽到有人在敲前門。Me and Rodrickneverhaveenoughmoneytobuy anything,so Mom has been paying us an allowance to do chores.One of my chores is dusting the dining room furniture,and that’s what I was doing this morning when I heard a knock at the front door.

我打開門，看到蓋瑞叔叔站在門口臺(tái)階上，吃了一驚。I opened the door and was surprised to see Uncle Gary standing on the front steps.

過了一會(huì)兒，老爸從樓上下來了，看到自己的親弟弟，也沒見他有多開心。Dad came downstairs a minute later,and he didn’t seem too happy to see his younger brother.

幾周前，蓋瑞叔叔打電話給老爸，說他有個(gè)千載難逢的商業(yè)良機(jī)，需要一筆貸款。A few weeks back Uncle Gary called Dad and said he had a“once-in-a-lifetime”business opportunity and needed a loan.

老爸不想借錢給蓋瑞叔叔，因?yàn)樯w瑞叔叔有借錢不還的前科，可謂“賴”跡斑斑。Dad didn’t want to give Uncle Gary any money,because Uncle Gary has a bad track record when it comes to paying people back.

老媽跟老爸說這錢必須得借，因?yàn)樗麄儺吘故鞘肿?，血濃于水。老媽就常這么跟我和羅德里克說。但愿我將來別缺個(gè)腎什么的，因?yàn)槲乙侵竿_德里克給我捐的話，我的麻煩就大了。But Mom told Dad he should do it because Uncle Gary is his brother and family members should always help each other out.Mom’s always saying the same sort of thing to me and Rodrick.I just hope I never need a kidney or something like that,because if Rodrick is the guy I’m counting on to give it to me,I could be in trouble.
