1.O.Henry（1862-1910）

O.Henry is the pseudonym（筆名）ofWilliam Sydney Porter,American writer of short stories,best known for his ironic（諷刺的）plot twists and surprise endings.Born and raised in Greensboro,North Carolina,O.Henry did not write professionally until he reached hismid-30s.Released from prison,O.Henrymoved to New York City in 1901 and began writing full time.In his stories he made full use of his knowledge of Texas,Central America,and life in prison.

He also became fascinated by New York street life, which provided a setting formany ofhis later stories.During the last ten years of his life,O.Henry becameone of themost popularwriters in America,publishing over500 shortstories.

Hismost famousstories,such as TheGiftofMag i《麥琪的禮物》，The Furnished Room《帶家具出租的房間》，The Cop and the Anthem《警察與贊美詩(shī)》and The Ransom of Red Chief《紅酋長(zhǎng)的贖金》make simple yeteffectiveuse of paradoxical（荒謬的，矛盾的）coincidences（巧合）to produce ironic endings.

五、反思

1.緣起

怎樣把學(xué)科核心素養(yǎng)，如思維品質(zhì)的形成，積極價(jià)值觀的培養(yǎng)在英語(yǔ)課堂上實(shí)現(xiàn)，著實(shí)是個(gè)挑戰(zhàn)，但是大勢(shì)所趨。我喜歡挑戰(zhàn)，而且傳統(tǒng)英語(yǔ)課堂總是集中在語(yǔ)言知識(shí)的學(xué)習(xí)上，忽視成片思維的培養(yǎng)，語(yǔ)言學(xué)習(xí)呈斷裂狀態(tài)。故，我想借著這次選材的特殊性（不是來(lái)自高中課本，而來(lái)自大學(xué)三年級(jí)綜合教程，而且是中學(xué)領(lǐng)域未曾觸及的類型:著名小說(shuō)家的作品，絕對(duì)的經(jīng)典閱讀），做大膽的嘗試，觸碰更多關(guān)于人性的問(wèn)題，如怎樣獲得真正的友誼，怎樣才能做先付出的那個(gè)人，受到傷害也無(wú)妨，究竟怎樣堅(jiān)固信心又不失喜悅地付出……我們的學(xué)生需要這樣的人生智慧來(lái)引導(dǎo)自己自在地學(xué)習(xí)、生活、與人交往。

我認(rèn)為經(jīng)典英語(yǔ)閱讀有兩個(gè)目的：通過(guò)閱讀，學(xué)會(huì)欣賞文學(xué)作品，感受人性的百態(tài)；所學(xué)內(nèi)容對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)生活的指導(dǎo)意義，如幫助形成積極的價(jià)值觀，使學(xué)生擁有滿滿的正能量。

2.實(shí)踐反饋

預(yù)設(shè)部分很順利，生成部分很精彩，學(xué)生給了我無(wú)數(shù)個(gè)驚喜！圓滿完成最接地氣的生活教育，學(xué)生得出結(jié)論：①愛(ài)出者愛(ài)返，把目光放得遠(yuǎn)些再遠(yuǎn)些……②出自本能地救人更了不起；③充實(shí)過(guò)好每一天，不留遺憾，從現(xiàn)在開(kāi)始。

3.真正的收獲

若到處是掌聲一片，我容易失落，因?yàn)槲疑钪獩](méi)有絕對(duì)的完美，若不能聽(tīng)到改進(jìn)的意見(jiàn)，才是真正的遺憾；所幸，我是一個(gè)幸運(yùn)兒，聽(tīng)到了專家的建議：既然是經(jīng)典閱讀，可以再做更深入的探討。我深深感恩，更進(jìn)一步確定了前進(jìn)的方向。
