        Research and Exploration of College English Teaching

        【Abstract】College English teaching reform has been one of the hot issues of higher education.The reform of college English teaching in recent years has made some achievements,but still there are many problems.This paper mainly focus on the following questions: What are the problems in college English teaching.The corresponding measures are proposed in this paper to address these issues.

        Ⅰ.Why College English Teaching should be paid much attention

        1.Teaching English in the college curriculum is a compulsory subject,and in terms of hours arrangements,or in the credit accounts for a sizeable proportion of all proportion.College emphasis on English teaching arrangements.

        2.Social demand for the level of knowledge of English is continuous increasing.Work on the overall quality of the candidates put forward higher requirements,need the workers not only have the appropriate level of expertise,but also increasing English proficiency.English has become a kind of assessment criteria for evaluating the candidate's employer.

        3.Further deepen on the degree of internationalization.With the deep of international level,the International English as a common language in international communication played a crucial role.

        Ⅱ.Status and problems of college English teaching

        1.Unified teaching content can not meet students' individual needs.

        Due to the presence differences of English teaching between urban and rural,leading to students have different levels of English when the enter university.If the teaching content is too simple,it will reduce the high level students learning English enthusiasm; the same token,if the teaching content is too deep,it will blow somewhat less English proficiency students' enthusiasm on English learning.

        2.Single teaching method is not conducive to enhancing students' comprehensive ability in English.

        Single teaching method can't promote students' comprehensive listening,speaking,reading and writing ability to upgrade.Although the traditional teaching method can help students improve their vocabulary accumulation and reading skills.While the traditional teaching way is too boring,easy to make students boing,is not conducive to mobilize the enthusiasm of the students initiative.

        3.The teachers teaching level should be improved.

        Although with the continuous progress of education reform,teachers have a lot of progress.But now the requirements for community college students improving the overall quality,the existing level of knowledge and teaching ability of teachers,has been unable to meet the growing needs of their students,and therefore improving the overall quality of teachers is necessity.

        Ⅲ.Settle proposals

        1.Making grading teaching according to the students' different levels of English.

        According to the different levels of learning objectives, learning attitude,the students are divided into different levels of English teaching.Students were developed for different teaching objectives,different teaching content,using different teaching methods,the use of different evaluation standards.It can mobilize the initiative of each student.

        2.Using various teaching methods.

        Using regular case-based,heuristic and other forms such as group learning,student-centered,fully mobilize the enthusiasm and innovative of the students.Or you can learn the use of cyber source network,combining the traditional teaching method and modern teaching method,make full use of cyber source advantage.

        3.Enhance teachers teaching level.

        As imparting and teaching knowledge guide,their English knowledge and teaching methods largely affect students' learning conditions.Therefore,the collage should strengthen the regular training for teachers,the mutual learning between teacher team.

        Through the reform and improvement on the college English teaching content,teaching methods and teacher team.At the same time,learning the outcome of the case experience,enhancing communication between the collages.The state should strengthen the support for college English teaching reform,China's college English teaching can achieve great benefits.
