英語中，我們可以用多種方式來表達(dá)請(qǐng)求許可、提出建議或是征求對(duì)方的意見。下面我們就來一起學(xué)習(xí)一下“請(qǐng)求許可”與“提出建議”在英語中的一些常見的表達(dá)方式。

一、may表示“許可、準(zhǔn)許、請(qǐng)求許可”，此時(shí)與can同義，可以互換使用。例如：

May/ Can I come in? 我可以進(jìn)來嗎？

You may/ can go to the cinema this evening. 你今晚可以去看電影。

【溫馨提示】對(duì)方許可時(shí), 其答語可以用Yes， you may. 但由于用may作肯定回答，語氣顯得生硬、嚴(yán)肅，因而一般常用Yes, please./ Certainly./ Of course.等。這些肯定答語顯得熱情、客氣。例如：

—May I use your sharpener？——我可以用你的卷筆刀嗎？

—Certainly. Here you are. ——當(dāng)然可以，給你。

若對(duì)方拒絕時(shí)，其答語可以用No, you may not./ No, you mustnt./ No, you cant.或Sorry, you cant./ No, please dont.等較委婉、客氣的說法。例如：

—May I go out for a walk after supper, Mum？——媽媽，我晚飯后可以出去散步嗎？

—No, you cant. ——不，你不可以。

—May I watch TV on Sunday evening？——我可以在星期天晚上看電視嗎？

—No, you mustnt. ——不，你星期天晚上不準(zhǔn)看電視。

二、can/ could表示請(qǐng)求和許可時(shí)，意為“可以”，這一用法中，can和could均表示現(xiàn)在，但在語氣上could比can委婉、客氣。句式Can (Could) I/ We...？常用來表示要求或允許；句式Can (Could) you...？常用來表示請(qǐng)求。例如：

Can you come here for a minute, please？ 請(qǐng)你到這兒來一下，好嗎？

Could you tell me the way to the post office？ 請(qǐng)告訴我去郵局的路，好嗎？

Could you give me a cup of tea? 請(qǐng)給我一杯茶喝，好嗎？

【溫馨提示】could表示請(qǐng)求時(shí)主要用于疑問句中，答語中不能用could。其應(yīng)答語是肯定的，通?？梢哉fCertainly./ Of course./ With pleasure.等；若應(yīng)答語是否定的可以說Im sorry I cant./ No, Im afraid not.等。例如：

—Could you help me carry the new books to the classroom？——請(qǐng)你幫我把新書搬到教室里去好嗎？

—Certainly. ——當(dāng)然可以。

—Could you lend me your pen？ ——我可以借用你的鋼筆嗎？

—Yes, you can./ —No, you cant. ——可以。/——不行。

三、“Lets + 動(dòng)詞原形”表示提出建議或征求對(duì)方意見。例如：

Lets ask our teacher for the question.這個(gè)問題我們?nèi)枂柪蠋煱桑?/p>

Lets go skating after school.我們放學(xué)后去溜冰吧！

【溫馨提示】這一句式的否定式可用Lets not...或Dont let us...。例如：

Lets not watch TV now. 咱們現(xiàn)在別看電視吧！

Dont let us do it again. 別再讓我們重復(fù)做了吧！

lets是let us的縮寫形式，一般情況下兩者可以互換，但略有區(qū)別：lets 的“我們”包括說話人和聽話人雙方，而let us不包括聽話人在內(nèi)。例如：

Lets go to the movies, shall we？ 咱們?nèi)タ措娪昂脝幔?/p>

Let us sing the English song, will you？ 我們一起唱這首英文歌曲好嗎？

四、“Shall we/ I + 動(dòng)詞原形”表示建議。例如：

Shall we go to the zoo to see the animals？ 我們?nèi)?dòng)物園看動(dòng)物好嗎？

Shall I cook English food for you？ 我給你做英國飯菜如何？

【溫馨提示】回答“Shall we/ I...？”句型時(shí)，若同意用“Good idea!”或“All right!”或“OK!”等；若不同意則說“No, lets...”或 “Sorry.”等。例如：

—Shall we have dinner by six？——我們六點(diǎn)前吃晚飯?jiān)趺礃樱?/p>

—Good idea!——好主意。

—Shall we go to the supermarket now？——咱們現(xiàn)在去超市購物怎么樣？

—Sorry!Im too busy. ——對(duì)不起，我實(shí)在太忙了。

五、“Why dont you(we)/ Why not + 動(dòng)詞原形”表示建議。例如：

Why dont you give some flowers to your girlfriend？

=Why not give some flowers to your girlfriend？為啥不送一些花給你的女朋友呢？

Why not go there with him？

=Why dont you go there with him？你為什么不和他一起去那兒？

六、“had better + 動(dòng)詞原形”表示建議。例如：

Shed better take some medicine. 她最好吃點(diǎn)藥。

Youd better put on your sweater, its cold outside. 你最好穿上你的毛衣，外面很冷。

【溫馨提示】had better中的had并非指過去，而是指現(xiàn)在或?qū)?，通用于各人稱，在人你代詞后?？s略為d。had better的否定式是had better not,而不是hadnt better。疑問式是將had提前，而不用助動(dòng)詞did。had better的反意部分用had,不用did 或would。例如：

Youd better not be late for the meeting tomorrow. 你最好明天開會(huì)不要遲到。

Had we better go to the station to meet your mother？ 我們最好去車站接你母親嗎？

Youd better leave here at once, hadnt you？ 你最好馬上離開這兒，好不好？

七、“What/ How about + 名詞/代詞或v.ing？”表示建議。例如：

What about coming across the road for a snack？ 到馬路對(duì)面去吃點(diǎn)心好嗎？

How about playing basketball now？ 現(xiàn)在打打籃球怎樣？

What about another cup of tea？ 再來杯茶好嗎？

八、“Would you like + 名詞或不定式”表示建議。例如：

Would you like to make a plan for your trip？ 你想制定一個(gè)旅行計(jì)劃嗎？

Would you like to help me with my English？ 你幫助我學(xué)習(xí)英語行嗎？

Would you like a cup of coffee？ 喝杯咖啡好嗎？

【溫馨提示】這一句式的肯定答語有“Yes, please./ Yes, Id like/ love to./All right./ OK.；否定答語有“No, thanks, Id like.../ Im afraid not.”等。例如：

—Would you like to have a bottle of milk？——你想喝一杯牛奶嗎？

—No, thanks. Id like to have a cup of tea. ——不，謝謝。我想喝杯茶。

—Would you like a pear？——你想吃個(gè)梨子嗎？

—Yes, please.——很想，請(qǐng)給我拿一個(gè)。

Would you like...？可用Would you please + 動(dòng)詞原形 + ...？代替，語氣更委婉、禮貌。例如：

Would you like to go to see my grandfather with me？

=Would you please go to see my grandfather with me？ 你和我一起去看望我爺爺好嗎？

這一句式一般不接動(dòng)詞-ing形式。例如：

誤：Would you like playing computer games this evening？

正：Would you like to play computer games this evening？

今天晚上你想玩電腦游戲嗎？

九、“祈使句 + OK？”表示建議。例如：

Just stay at home and wait for me. OK？待在家中等我，好嗎？

Read after me. OK？ 跟我讀，好嗎？

十、Will you...？表示委婉地建議或請(qǐng)求。例如：

Will you go to the Great Wall with us tomorrow morning？ 明天上午你和我們一起去長城好嗎？

Will you tell me where the nearest bank is？ 你告訴我最近的銀行在哪里好嗎？
