sight

（1）sth that is seen， esp. sth unusual， beautiful，etc. 景象；奇觀

He enjoyed seeing the sights of the West lake.他喜歡觀賞西湖美景。

（2）the power of seeing 視力

He lost his sight in an accident. 他在一次事故中喪失視力了。

（3）the seeing of sth 觀看；瞥見(jiàn)

辨析 sight： 值得看的名勝風(fēng)景，常用復(fù)數(shù)。

scenery： 指總的自然景觀。

view：表示從某個(gè)角度能看到的遠(yuǎn)景。

suit

（1）n. a set of outer garments 外套；西裝；套裝

He is wearing a sports suit. 他穿著運(yùn)動(dòng)服。

（2）to look attractive on sb 適合（某人）

Its almost impossible to find a time that suits everybody. 想要找一個(gè)對(duì)所有人都合適的時(shí)間幾乎是不可能的。

辨析 fit： 多指衣服尺寸大小合身。

suit： 指衣服顏色款式適合某人，或者指某事安排適合某人。

match： 意為“使相稱(chēng)，相配，匹配”，指事物在大小、色調(diào)、性質(zhì)等方面的搭配。

It doesnt suit you to have your hair cut short. 你不適合剪短發(fā)。

Her nails were painted bright red to match her dress. 她把指甲涂成了大紅色，為的是與裙子相配。

I tried the dress on but it didnt fit. It was too small. 我試了那條裙子，但是并不合身，太小了。

panic

（1）v. to cause to fearful 使……恐慌

Shoppers are panicked into buying things they dont need. 消費(fèi)者因恐慌搶購(gòu)了一些他們并不需要的東西。

（2）n. a state of sudden uncontrollable quickly-spreading terror or anxiety. 恐慌；驚慌

she got into a real panic when she thought shed lost the tickets. 想到自己把入場(chǎng)券弄丟了，她十分恐慌。

appoint

（1）to choose sb for a job or position任命；委派

They appointed Mr. White（to be） manager of the company.

= They appointed Mr. White as manager of the company.

= They appointed Mr. White to act manager of the company. 他們?nèi)蚊鼞烟叵壬鸀楣窘?jīng)理。

We must appoint someone to finish the tough task. 們得指定一個(gè)人去完成這項(xiàng)艱難的任務(wù)。

（2） to arrange or decide on a time or a place for doing sth 安排
