The death toll from the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that hit Lushan County in China's Sichuan province on April 20 has risen to 193， with 25 missing and 12211 injured， according to local authorities on April 23. New Leader of CDB

On April 15， Hu Huaibang， former chairman of Bank of Communications Co， replaced Chen Yuan as chairman of China Development Bank （CDB）. The leaving of Chen may means the end of CDB’s restructuring period. Chen was appointed as chairman of CDB in 1998 and helped to pave the way for the commercial development of the policy bank. However Chen left the problem of local governments’ loan worthy of several trillion yuan and the unsolved CDB’s bonds credit. To solve the problems， Hu may reconfirm CDB’s orientation as the policy bank.
