How至少有六個意思。

一、表手段、方法：如何，怎樣，怎么

例如：

How did you work out the math problem？你是如何算出這道數(shù)學題的？

How did the traffic accident happen？這場交通事故是怎樣發(fā)生的？

Tell me how you have studied English.跟我講，你是怎么學習英語的。

We should learn how to operate a computer.我們應該學會怎樣操作計算機。

二、表程度：多少，如何

例如：

How many students are there in your class？你們班有多少學生？

How much wine is there in the bottle？瓶子里有多少白酒？

How soon will you go to Shenzhen？你多久去深圳？

How far is it from your home to our factory？你們家到我們廠多遠？

三、表狀況、情況：怎樣的情形，怎樣的狀況

例如：

How is your Chinese teacher？你們語文老師身體好嗎？

How is the weather in Beijing？北京的天氣怎么樣？

How would you like your noodles？你的面條要幾分熟？

How do you find your art teacher？你感覺你們語文老師怎么樣？

四、表理由：為何，為什么

例如：

How can you tell such a lie？你怎么能夠說這種謊話？

How in the world did you do such a thing？你究竟為什么要做這種事呢？

五、表感嘆：多么，何等。

例如：

How beautiful the bird is！那只鳥多么漂亮??！

How high the plane is flying！飛機飛得多高?。?/p>

六、引導名詞從句：做……的方法，由于……的緣故

例如：

This is how they built the building.他們就是這樣修房子的。

另外，how和about連用，是“……怎么樣？”的意思，how about和what about在句子中通用。例：How about a glass of wine？來杯水酒怎么樣？what about going swimming？去游泳怎么樣？

除上面談到的用法之外，how還有一些特殊的結(jié)構(gòu)，例：How so？怎么會這樣？How’s that？意思是①這是為什么？②你認為怎么樣？③你說什么，請再說一次？How then？這是怎么回事？等等。
