I Role play (角色扮演:三問五答)
1. Get the Ss to look at the pictures on P31, guess the correct order and write down their guesses. Get them to check the answers with the group members.
Then get them to listen to the material and write down the correct order. Get some of them to speak out their answers and check with the whole class.
2. Get the Ss to get ready to ask three questions in English according to the following Chinese tips. Get some of them to speak out their answers and make sure that they know different kinds of question sentences.
1) Lin Pu
3)Lin Pu
3. Get the Ss to listen again and answer the five questions in English.
1) When did Lin Pu get his driver’s license?
2) Was Lin Pu driving in the city for the first time?
3) What did the cyclist tell Lin Pu to do?
4) For what did the policeman tell Lin Pu to pay a fine?
5) How was Lin Pu’s feeling facing this?
II Retelling (故事復述)
1. Prepare according to the following tips.
關(guān)鍵詞提示:in every direction(在各個方向), traffic light(交通燈), hit(碰撞,撞到),knock over(撞翻), pay for sth.(賠償某事物),pay a fine for doing…(因做了某事而支付罰單)
2. Listen to the material twice and take quick notes of some keys to what you hear.
3. You have one minute to prepare.
4. Now please retell the passage.(Get the Ss to retell the story to their group members and then ask some Ss to retell it to the class.)
Sample:Lin Pu just got his driver’s license last week and today he was driving in the city for the first time. Taxis were going in every direction. People were crossing the street without paying attention to the cars and the people riding bikes never looked before they turned. Just then, the traffic light ahead turned red and the car in front of him stopped suddenly. He quickly turned to the right to avoid hitting the car. Unluckily, he hit a bicycle and knocked over a basket full of apples on it. A policeman saw this and went up to him. As a result, Lin Pu was told to pay for the apples as well as pay a fine for his breaking the traffic rule. Facing this, he regretted buying the car.
