So every year there's a huge festival there， with all kinds of people. Reading's smaller， but still very cool.

Lin Zhi: Was it good?

Joe: I loved them， but it was muddy as hell， and there was a lot of ticket sharping going on.Festivals are expensive nowadays， but my parents paid for me the first time.

Lin Zhi: Your parents like rock music too?

Joe: My dad was at Woodstock in '69.

Lin Zhi: The famous American festival?

Joe: Yeah， he saw Jimi Hendrix play live. It must have been amazing – Hendrix was on top form that day.

Lin Zhi: I hear there were a lot of girls there too – naked girls. Well， covered in mud.

Joe: I don't want to think about that with my dad! At least it was before he met mum …

Virgin的意思是“處女”。在這里用來(lái)形容林芝在參加音樂(lè)節(jié)的經(jīng)歷上完全空白，一次都沒(méi)有。

6. top form

意為“狀態(tài)好、處于最佳的狀態(tài)”。在文中指的是現(xiàn)場(chǎng)表演的狀態(tài)達(dá)到頂峰。
