在英語中，有一些名詞、副詞、分詞、介詞短語當(dāng)作連詞使用，引導(dǎo)狀語從句，本文對(duì)此作一歸納。

1. 名詞短語引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句。

（1）the moment， the minute， the second， the instant 等引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句。譯為“一……就……”，相當(dāng)于as soon as。例如：

The moment she comes， I’ll tell her.

The minute I heard the voice， I knew mother was coming.

注意： for a moment（ 一會(huì)），for the moment（目前，暫時(shí)）， 他們是介詞短語，作時(shí)間狀語。

（2）every time， each time， next time， the first time， any time 等名詞短語引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句，表示“每次”、“下次”、“第一次”、“任何時(shí)候”。例如：

Every time he was in trouble， I would help him.

The first time I saw her， l liked her.

The last time I met him， he was in Beijing.

You are welcome to come back any time you want to.

注意：for the first time（第一次），at any time（在任何時(shí)候），是介詞短語，作時(shí)間狀語。

2. 副詞引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句。

ｉmmediately， instantly， directly， presently 等引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句，譯為“一……就……”。例如：

The boy burst into tears immediately he saw his mother.

I’ll call on you instantly I arrive.

3. 分詞引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句。

provieded(that)“如果”；supposing / suppose(that)“假使”；considering“考慮到”；given“如果”；seeing“鑒于”等分詞引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句。例如：

Provided(that)her friends go， she will go， too.

Supposing they refuse me， who else can I turn to for help?

Considering his age， he got a good mark.

Given more time， I would complete it better.

4. 常見的介詞短語作連詞。

for fear (that) 唯恐；in case萬一，以防； on condition that條件是； in order that 為了……例如：

He hid himself behind the tree for fear that his father might find him.

Takｅ an umbrella with you in case it rains.

You can ｋｅｅｐ my bｏｏｋ on condition that you take care of it.

I work hard in order that I can pass the exam.
