Part One: Separation Anxiety 失去聯(lián)絡

（Elena和Casanova坐在威尼斯的露天咖啡館中，回顧一周的經(jīng)歷，愉快地聊著天。）

Casanova: You haven't stopped smiling since we've been here.

Elena: I know! I can't believe how beautiful this place is. I've travelled before， but this feels different somehow.

Casanova: Different? How?

Elena: I guess being here with you. And it was so nice to meet some of your family. They were so welcoming. There's something different about exploring a new country with someone you know and love.

Casanova: (jokingly) It's just because I know all the best restaurants， isn't it? I knew you were with me just for the food!

Elena: (hitting him on the arm playfully) No way! Well， that's part of it， of course. And your mom's cooking， that's what I'm really in it for. I'd take her over you any day!

Casanova: Well， I can't blame you for that. She was the one that instilled a love of food in me from when I was young. It's the whole reason why I decided to open up my own restaurant in the first place. And even now， after all these years of travelling and sampling some of the best food in the world， she's the best cook I've ever come across.

Elena: And she's been so nice to me. I was actually quite intimidated about meeting her you know， because you talk about her all the time and make her sound like the perfect woman!

Casanova: She is. (smiling) But you're also perfect.

(The two share a kiss.)

Elena: I really think this is the best trip I've ever taken in my life.

Casanova: Well， it's only going to get better! Carnevale starts from tomorrow， and the whole city is going to turn into one big party. You'll love it， Elena – it's like something out of a 17th century novel. Everyone gets all dressed up， and wears masks to go to the events.

Elena: I know， I've read all about it and can't wait to see what it's like! We have to go out and get some masks!

(Casanova and Elena are at a masquerade ball. The party has spilled out from a courtyard onto the streets and， in the mad rush of people， the two are separated.)

Elena: Casanova? Casanova! Where are you?!

Casanova: Elena! Elena! I'm over here!

(But Elena has been swept in the opposite direction and cannot hear Casanova's calls.)

Elena: Oh crap. I have no idea where I am right now. Casanova! I can't believe how crowded it is， there's no way I'm going to find him now. I've just got to hope that he's looking for me too…

Casanova: Oh no. Elena must be panicking by now. I can't believe I got distracted by that acrobat， she's going to be furious when I find her – if I find her.

(Elena searches for Casanova for an hour， but to no avail. Tired and irritable， she flops down on the stoop of a nearby shop.)

Elena: I can't believe this! This was supposed to be such a fun night together and now I don't even have a clue which direction he might have gone. You would have thought he would try harder to find me! Oh well…I guess the best thing to do is to sit tight and wait， otherwise he might miss me. And I can't even remember where our hotel is! Unbelievable.

(A stranger in a mask sees Elena sitting dejectedly on the stoop.)

Stranger: Hi! Why the long face? It's Carnevale! Come on， come and join the party.

Elena: (grumpily) I'm not in the mood， I've just been separated from my boyfriend.

Stranger: Oh， that's too bad. It happens all the time though， there are so many people around. I myself came with a group of eight people and we've already lost five of them! Or maybe they think they've lost us， ha ha!

Elena: (not listening to the man， muttering to herself)…and he probably hasn't even noticed that I'm gone， knowing him. He's probably having a great time flirting with all the girls. If he really cared about me， he would have found me by now.

Stranger: Oh， I'm sure you'll find him eventually! And probably lose him again! That's what this party is all about. You might get separated from the people you came with， but you'll meet new people! And make great friends! Everyone is your friend here， see?

Elena: Uh， no， I don't think so. There could be some crazy axe murderer here for all I know， the masks provide such a good cover. If someone got killed in here no one would know who did it.Now that I think of it， you might be a crazy axe murderer! No thank you， I think I'll just sit here and wait for my boyfriend to come and find me.

Stranger: You can't be serious， you're missing all the action! No one is going to kill you， come and join me and my friends. See those two over there， on the boat? That's my sister and her boyfriend.We're all going to go dancing. Come with us!

Elena: Boat? You're having a boat party?

Stranger: It's wonderful， you'll love it.

Elena: Well， I have always wanted to go to a boat party…no， no. I should stay here in case Casanova comes back this way. He might be frantically looking for me.

Stranger: The boat will stay moored here， so it's no problem. You'll be able to see him if he comes back. Come， it'll be safer for you to be with us than just sit here all night!

Elena: I suppose you're right…

Part Two: Ready to Commit? 吃醋風波

（Casanova焦急地尋找Elena，心急如焚的他甚至猜測Elena可能被人誘拐了。就在此時，他發(fā)現(xiàn)Elena竟然和一個陌生的男人在一起。）

Casanova: Oh my god， it feels like I've looked everywhere and she's nowhere to be found. What if she's been kidnapped or something， oh god， oh god…

(Casanova notices the party boat moored at the pier.)

Casanova: I guess I haven't checked on that thing yet， although I doubt I'll find her there…she's more likely to be sitting on a stoop somewhere， waiting for me…

(As Casanova steps onto the boat， he hears a great cheer erupt at his left.)

Casanova: What's going on…Elena?!

(Casanova sees Elena dancing up a storm with a stranger.)

Casanova: Elena! What is this? (grabs her arm)

Elena: Casanova! You're here!

(The crowd boos as Casanova hauls Elena off the dance floor.)

Casanova: Of course I'm here! I've been looking everywhere for you! And I was expecting you to be doing the same， not dancing with some guy!

Stranger: (following them) Is everything okay?

Casanova: She's fine， mate， she's with me.

Elena: It's okay， this is my boyfriend Casanova.

Stranger: Oh! Well that's great that you've found each other. How about a drink?

Casanova: No need， we're off.

Stranger: So soon? We were having such a great time.

Casanova: (snarling) Well， she's going to have a better time with me， alright? Piss off.

Elena: Casanova! Don't be like that. This man was just being nice. He invited me to join him and his sister when I was lost and lonely without you.

(But before Elena can continue， Casanova drags her off the boat as the stranger watched.)

Elena: (calling out to the stranger) Wait! What's your name?

Stranger: It's Leon!

(Once outside on the streets， Casanova lets go of Elena's hand.)

Casanova: What were you doing on that boat with that guy?! Didn't you realise that I would be out looking all over the place for you?! Here I was， convinced that you would be alone and scared， that you would be looking for me too， and you're actually at some boat party dancing with a complete stranger!

Elena: (hurriedly) No， it isn't like that， I did look for you， for a long time. But after a while it became clear that we'd have no chance to finding each other if we were both running around in different directions， so I decided to head down over there on that stoop and wait for you. Then Leon came up to me and was really nice， and invited me to join him and his sister on that boat over there， and said I would still be able to see you if you came back this way because the boat was moored and everything， and I'd already been looking for you for over an hour and it was so cold， I guess I thought there would be no harm in going with them just to warm up a little. And the guy wasn't being at all sleazy， he was really just being nice.

Casanova: (grudgingly) Well…I guess it was better for you to be indoors with someone safe than out here on some random stoop on your own…especially if the guy was with his sister…

Elena: (teasingly) Casanova， were you being jealous? Did you get so angry because I was dancing with that guy?

Casanova: No! I'm not the jealous type， you know that!

Elena: Oh， I don't think so – I think you're jealous!

Casanova: Please， don't be ridiculous.

Elena: (wrapping her arms around him) You know what， I love that you're jealous. It makes me feel like you really care about me. I really want us to be together， just the two of us. No more casual relationships. I think we're ready to make that commitment now， don't you think?

(Casanova returns the embrace， but underneath his mask his face has gone pale.)

在對話中，Casanova打趣道，Elena之所以喜歡威尼斯是因為她能享受到美食，而Elena對此的回應是承認自己喜歡Casanova的媽媽做的飯菜，緊接著開玩笑地說了這句話，意思是因為Casanova的媽媽是個煮菜高手，那自己總有一天會喜歡他媽媽多于喜歡他的。
