2007年的第一個周末，中國體操隊資深教練、女隊教練組組長陸善真應(yīng)邀為浙江體操隊作指導(dǎo)。他這次來到浙江比任何一次都來得激動，他說：“浙江姑娘何寧在十個月時間，亞錦賽、亞運會、世錦賽，一舉奪取7枚金牌，創(chuàng)造了中國體操隊歷史上的奇跡！她進(jìn)國家隊時間最短，但創(chuàng)造了獲世界冠軍最快的紀(jì)錄！”

打頭陣膽大心細(xì)

時間回溯到2006年12月，多哈亞運會激戰(zhàn)正酣。

北京時間3日凌晨，體操女子團體決賽正在進(jìn)行，中國隊打頭陣的便是何寧。小姑娘毫不怯場，自始至終面帶微笑，無論是自由體操還是平衡木，無一不完成得干脆、利落，最后，這塊分量最重的體操金牌無可爭議地歸屬中國隊！

何寧扮演這樣的“領(lǐng)軍人物”已經(jīng)不是第一次了。早在兩個月之前，在丹麥阿胡斯舉行的第39屆世界體操錦標(biāo)賽上，何寧也當(dāng)“領(lǐng)軍人物”第一個上場，她頂住了重重壓力，憑借穩(wěn)定的發(fā)揮和高昂的斗志，與隊友收獲了團體冠軍。這是中國體操53年來第一個女子團體冠軍，為祖國贏得了極大榮譽！

在奪取亞運會女子體操團體冠軍后的次日，何寧再次以“穩(wěn)”取勝，贏得女子個人全能金牌。此時此刻一直守在電視機前的爺爺奶奶，目睹此景此情，一個勁用寧波話說：“交關(guān)高興、交關(guān)樂胃?！?/p>

幾天后，中國體操隊凱旋。在北京首都國際機場，陸善真指導(dǎo)不惜溢美之辭：“何寧憑借頑強、良好的競賽作風(fēng)，完成了不可能完成的任務(wù)！”

“這丫頭從不服輸”

陸善真指導(dǎo)為什么稱何寧“完成了不可能完成的任務(wù)”？

原來，對體操運動而言，何寧的身材并不出挑，其他優(yōu)勢也不明顯。浙江省體校教練湯昌言說：“我在省體校第一次見到小姑娘時，她一點也不起眼，最深的印象是手大、腳大，只會兩個動作：一個是劈叉，另一個是雙手撐地抬抬屁股。但手大、腳大也有好處，手大容易抓杠，腳大可以抓木。”因此勉強讓她留了下來。省隊的汪瀛士也坦言：小姑娘的身材屬于“粗壯型”，練體操可能會影響動作質(zhì)量、美觀度，最主要的是難度增值能力不夠。

但后來是什么能讓省體校毅然決然留下何寧呢？正是這個寧波姑娘從不言敗、從不服輸?shù)木?！早?998年，因為傷病影響，何寧在浙江省第十二屆運動會上成績不夠理想，長輩們也不想讓她再練下去，情急之下當(dāng)年才7歲的小何寧“撲通”一聲跪了下來：“求求你們，讓我留下來，再給一次機會吧?！?/p>

進(jìn)省隊后，何寧是“最好練的運動員”。汪瀛士說：“省隊的孩子年齡都不大，難免會有些嬌氣，但何寧從來都不曾流露過半點嬌和懶，每天她總是勤勤懇懇用心訓(xùn)練和加練?！?/p>

2004年何寧被送到國家隊進(jìn)行短期集訓(xùn)。這是全國體操新秀的舞臺，人才濟濟，何寧沒有給教練留下多少印象。2005年國家體操隊又組織一次短期集訓(xùn)，浙江體?？偨叹毻翦靠?cè)宕瓮扑]：“何寧這小姑娘練得很苦，發(fā)揮也很穩(wěn)定，再給她個機會吧?！北M管這樣，也沒能再次叩開國家隊的大門。

這對何寧打擊很大。她知道身材、天賦上的劣勢固然很難改變，但如何揚長避短，這是何寧常常思考的問題，她開始用腦子練體操。

體操賽場上有難、穩(wěn)、美、新四要素，除了“穩(wěn)”，何寧很難在其他三要素上實現(xiàn)突破，因此她選擇了在“穩(wěn)”上下工夫。無論是在眾目睽睽之下抑或大小比賽，何寧都自告奮勇要求第一個上場，藉此考驗自己的心理素質(zhì)和壓力承受能力。

2005年10月，全國第十屆運動會在江蘇南京舉行。何寧憑借“穩(wěn)定”這一招數(shù)，奪得女子高低杠季軍、女子個人全能第八名。在全能前八名選手中，只有何寧不是國家隊隊員。她從第一場到第四場，場場沒有失誤，陸善真指導(dǎo)看后的第一句話是：“心理素質(zhì)真好?！?/p>

也正是這次的精彩亮相，何寧再次進(jìn)入國家隊教練的視野。她把握了機會，國家隊也給了她機會：2006年2月，何寧成為國家隊正式隊員。她在世錦賽上打頭陣，奪冠軍后陸善真對她又有褒獎：“何寧是永遠(yuǎn)都不會掉下高低杠的選手。”

生活磨難是財富

何寧從不服輸?shù)木?，來自她不同尋常的生活?jīng)歷。

何寧的生身父母是浙江臺州人，出生一個星期她就被送給寧波的陳金明夫婦。當(dāng)年陳金明與妻子都已50多歲了，小何寧稱他們?yōu)椤盃敔敗薄澳棠獭薄?/p>

陳金明夫婦視其為己出，疼愛有加。跑供銷的陳金明甚至出差到上海，都要把小何寧帶在身邊。

送小何寧學(xué)體操也是陳金明的主意：“我們年紀(jì)大了，沒有太多精力照顧她，再加上孩子有這方面特長，所以托人找到了寧波體校的教練?！蹦悄辏螌幉贿^5歲多點。

送到體操隊后陳金明夫婦也沒少費心，尤其到杭州訓(xùn)練后，幾乎每個星期老兩口都要坐公交車再坐火車從寧波趕到杭州看望何寧、關(guān)愛何寧。

特殊的家庭背景使小何寧過早地成熟了。她是隊員中最安靜也是最沉默的一個，教練找她談心，只要聽到“要爭氣”之類的言語時，小何寧總是咬住嘴唇不停地點頭。

也因為這個，何寧自理能力特強，還特獨立。她在省隊時小小年紀(jì)就是“大管家”了：安排值日、整理內(nèi)務(wù)、訓(xùn)練管理隊形等，小家伙都能出色完成。教練們說：“生活的磨難何嘗不是一筆財富?！边@種經(jīng)歷，是催促何寧更快、更好成長的原動力。

目前，何寧最大的心愿就是進(jìn)軍北京奧運，并能夠登上最高領(lǐng)獎臺。

教練動情地說：2008年北京奧運，17歲的何寧正值當(dāng)打之年。何寧雖然沒有哪個單項特別突出，但她上場80%的成功率是所有國家隊員望塵莫及的。其次，何寧的“獨門武器”是對比賽節(jié)奏的控制。在團體賽事中，中國隊少不了她這個打頭炮的選手。

當(dāng)然，目前中國體操女隊競爭十分激烈，張楠、周卓如、韓冰、龐盼盼、程菲、范燕等都如日中天，進(jìn)軍奧運大名單決非輕而易舉?！霸谔R、平衡木項目上，還須再努力哦。”這是多位教練對何寧的點撥。不過不用揚鞭自奮蹄，16歲的何寧早在編織自己的夢想了，就連12月18日她的生日，她也是在賽場上度過的。

“何寧把握了第一次機遇，她還會把握第二、第三次機遇。她同時也會給我們帶來更多的驚喜?！蓖翦繉弁綕M懷信心。

The 16-Year-Old World Champion

Lu Shanzhen， head coach of the Chinese women gymnastic team， came to Hangzhou in early January 2007 and hosted a training session for the Zhejiang women gymnasts during a weekend. The head coach came with an excitement his colleagues in the province had never seen before. The excitement was understandable: He Ning， a 16-year-old gymnastic starlet from Zhejiang， grabbed 7 gold medals at Asian Games， Asian Championships and World Championships within 11 months in 2006. She is a miracle in the history of the Chinese gymnastics， for no one on the national team has ever accomplished that much in the international arena within such a short time.

He Ning is not just another world champion on the national team. The golden girl is literally the leader of the champion team: in Doha， Qatar and Aarhus， Denmark， she was always chosen to be the first of the team to compete for her peerless consistent performance. She helped women’s Team China win the first world title in 53 years. “He Ning accomplished the mission impossible，?enthused Lu Shenzhen at the airport when the team was back to Beijing from Denmark.

The head coach was not the only one overjoyed. He Ning learned to repeat her glory. At home in Ningbo her grandparents were overjoyed to watch her grab the all-round championship at the 15th Asian Games in Doha.

Her coaches both on the national team and the provincial team agree unanimously that consistence is the teenager’s hallmark. Tang Changyan， a coach with the Zhejiang Sports Academy， was not impressed at the first sight of the little He Ning years ago. In the eyes of the coaches， she did not have promising physical potentials. At that time she could only perform two simple basic moves. Moreover， she had big hands and feet. That means， for gymnastics， she would not win for her physical beauty and in all probability there might be problems for her to display finest quality and conquer world-class technical difficulties in her future performances as an international gymnast. But， her big feet and hands could be a superb advantage on apparatuses. After all， you need to keep yourself on the apparatuses before you can show anything of beauty， technical difficulty and quality.

So coaches decided to give the young girl a chance. Pretty soon， a hidden potential in He Ning began to shine: she trained hard and learned fast. Her coaches agreed she was the most diligent girl in training on the team. The national team organized two short-term training camps in 2004 and 2005 to screen budding talents nationwide. He Ning failed to attract the attention.

Her coaches on the provincial team knew she had to be consistent to be competitive in the national arena. They developed her consistency and she always volunteered to be the first to compete in any team events.

The national championships held in October 2005 became a turning point for the girl who never gave up. She was in the eighth place in the all-round competition and she was the only one of the eight who was not on the national team. Top coaches watched her closely and were deeply impressed by her consistent performance. This time they recognized her unique talent in making no mistakes under big pressure. In February 2006， she joined the national team. Her career took off. In 2006， she became the national all-round champion and she was chosen to compete for international championships.

If He Ning partly owes her success on apparatuses to her big hands and feet， her never-say-die spirit came partly from her unusual life experience. A week after her birth， she was adopted as a granddaughter by Chen Jinming and his wife in their fifties. They lived in Ningbo， hundreds of kilometers from her birthplace. He Ning began practicing gymnastics at the age of five. After she was on the provincial team， her grandparents would come all the way from Ningbo to visit her in Hangzhou almost every weekend. He Ning showed her leadership capability when she was on the provincial team: she worked out weekly duty lists， supervised daily routine housekeeping tasks in dorms， and led the training team.

He Ning will be 17 years old in 2008. She hopes that she’ll be good enough to be on the team for the Olympics. Competition within the national team is fierce when other girls are nice and brilliant. She now looks forward to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
