金發(fā)碧眼、身段優(yōu)美的烏克蘭美女奧莉嘉·貝柯娃是位芭蕾舞蹈家，上個世紀(jì)末的1997年初夏來到中國，她在北京、上海、青島轉(zhuǎn)了一圈，最終看中杭州，被浙江省藝校（2002年后改名為浙江藝術(shù)職業(yè)學(xué)院）聘為芭蕾舞女班的老師，后來貝柯娃到省航空公司找俄羅斯空姐時，有緣遇上杭州鐵路中學(xué)教過俄語的王玉琢老師。她對這位慈祥、熱情、開朗的老人頗有好感，便執(zhí)意請他為自己做俄語顧問。

貝柯娃與俄語顧問配合得非常好，工作得十分出色，得到領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的信任，2001年春天，貝柯娃被評上浙江為外籍專家設(shè)立的“西湖友誼獎”，她抑制不住興奮，擁吻了王玉琢老師，喚著“謝謝中國爸爸！謝謝中國爸爸！”此后，王玉琢與貝柯娃真的成了一對名副其實(shí)的“父女”，一到休息天，“烏克蘭女兒”就自如進(jìn)出王玉琢老師家，叫王玉琢夫婦為“爸爸！”“媽媽！”卷起袖子為兩老收拾整理屋子，系起圍裙給兩老烹飪俄羅斯佳肴，就像在自己家里一樣。2004年7月，貝柯娃父親不幸逝世，她含著悲痛難舍難分地回國奔喪，接著母親又得了絕癥，使她再無法返回杭州。但是8年的中國杭州情結(jié)、“中國爸爸”的情結(jié)使她難以釋懷，她只能不斷寫信和打電話表達(dá)對中國杭州、對“中國爸爸”的思念與友情。

貝柯娃給王玉琢夫婦寫來許多情深意切的信，下面是其中的兩封：

我親愛的中國爸爸媽媽：

我給你們寫過一封信。寫完讀了一遍，太憂傷了，撕掉了，現(xiàn)在另寫一封，我記掛你們的健康。

首先，請您代我向我們學(xué)院的院長和全體老師請求原諒，原諒我終止了合同。您知道，我是多么地?zé)釔壑袊?，熱愛我所有的中國男女學(xué)生，熱愛所有的中國朋友和同志，熱愛我的舞蹈工作。但我的家庭狀況使我無法再去中國工作，這真是萬分無奈的事。

送走父親（喪事），母親也躺下了，得的是絕癥，有時連我是誰也弄不清楚了。她的右手和右腳已經(jīng)麻木，就像木頭一樣沒有知覺，腦袋浮腫得厲害，生活不能自理，飲食靠我用湯勺喂她。我曾想找個保姆幫助一下，可是找了一個年紀(jì)太大，什么事都不想做，只想拿錢；重找一個年紀(jì)是不大，但愛小偷小摸；又換一個卻笨得要命，還欺辱我母親；再調(diào)換一個，除了吃東西就是看電視。我誰都不請了，一切由我自己來做，這樣當(dāng)然很累。……

我這里有一些男女朋友是政府要員，想幫我。其中一個女友還是克里米亞市市長，在他們的關(guān)照下，我每月能拿到6670戈比（合133美元）退休金，比我同等級別的人多一倍。我媽媽的養(yǎng)老金每月是3320戈比，比我少一半。他們要我出來工作，提議我出任克里米亞市文化部長，或擔(dān)任別的任何一種重要職務(wù)都可以。我非常感謝他們的精心關(guān)照，但我婉言謝絕了！我只想全身心地照顧媽媽。

我非常想念中國。

有兩位從北京來的中國人，要我?guī)退麄冊谛练橇_波爾市找一家中國飯店，我豪不猶豫地說：“行！”我非常樂意接待中國朋友。我到車站去迎接他們，把他們帶進(jìn)中國飯店。這家飯店費(fèi)用很貴，但這個城里別無其他飯店。飯店的廚師來自青島，會講漢語和俄語。他和兩位中國同胞講漢語，問明他們的要求，飯菜全按中國人的口味做，味道鮮美。兩位中國人用筷子吃，看他們吃得津津有味，不由讓我想起中國的飲食來。我們談了許多，我好像回了一趟中國?！傊H愛的爸爸，只要有中國來的朋友，不管您的哪位朋友，需要我在克里米亞提供幫助，您就寫信或打電話給我，我一定盡力接待好。我在中國度過了我生命中許多美好的歲月，如今我還常常夢見在中國家里。

還有件有意思的事：我從中國回來以后，辛非羅波爾市政府還把我找去，要我在大院里給市府的公務(wù)人員作了兩個小時的關(guān)于中國的報告。大家像聽童話故事般聽我講，還提了五花八門的問題，我都一一作了回答。大家聽了都想立即到中國去看看。我感到在克里米亞很少有人了解中國的實(shí)際情況，我有義務(wù)告訴我的同胞，中國是如何的繁榮昌盛，中國人生活得多么快樂，對從我國去的優(yōu)秀專家是如何的尊敬和熱愛?？偠灾?，在中國杭州一切都好！

親愛的爸爸媽媽，你們瞧，我就是這樣生活過來的。

感謝中國！再一次向中國深深的鞠躬！

剛才，烏克蘭時間早上8點(diǎn)，我接到您從學(xué)院（浙江藝術(shù)職業(yè)學(xué)院）辦公室打來的電話，我好感動，和您，和院長、書記都通了電話，我是多么地高興??！我的心情沒有任何言辭可以形容，此刻我一邊流著眼淚，一邊給您寫信。您給我送來了如此巨大的歡樂，我十二萬分感謝！從電話里聽到您的聲音，我心里感到無比溫暖和歡樂。您一直沒有忘記我，總是關(guān)心著我，惦記著我。特別是過去在我處境艱難的日子里，您沒有拋棄我，沒有讓我孤獨(dú)，精心照護(hù)我，幫助我。我一輩子都忘不了您，我非常非常感謝您！今天您和院長、書記打電話給我，是我美好的節(jié)日！

Olga’s Two Letters to Her Chinese Father

Olga Bykova used to be a ballet master from Ukraine at Zhejiang Art Academy. She came to China in 1997 and after her stays in Beijing， Shanghai and Qingdao， she chose Hangzhou. It was in Hangzhou that she met her Chinese papa and mama.

One day she was visiting with a few stewardesses from Russia at the provincial aviation company and ran into Wang Yuzhuo， a retired middle school teacher of the Russian language. They went along quite well immediately. Olga asked Wang to work for her as Russian interpreter.

Olga Bykova and Wang cooperated smoothly. In the spring of 2001， Olga Bykova received West Lake Friendship Award for her brilliant achievement. The award is an honor issued by the provincial government for foreign experts working in Zhejiang. Olga Bykova was so happy at the award issuing ceremony that she hugged and kissed Wang Yuzhuo， repeatedly saying “Thank you， my Chinese papa!?From then on， the daughter from Ukraine visited her Chinese papa and mama every weekend. She did house chores and cooked Russian dishes. In July 2004， Olga Bykova’s father died. The daughter went back home. After the funeral， her mother was found to have had cancer. So Olga Bykova was unable to come back to Hangzhou.

However， she keeps correspondences with her Chinese papa and mama. Here are the English versions of two letters from the daughter to the Chinese papa， first translated by Yi Bing into Chinese from Russian.

The first letter

My Dear Chinese papa and mama:

I wrote a letter to you， but I tore it up after reading it. It was too sad. I am starting a new letter now. I am concerned with your health.

Please say how sorry I am to Mr. President of our academy and all the teachers there on my behalf. Please forgive me to have terminated the work contract. You know I how I love China， the Chinese boys and girls I taught， and all my Chinese friends and comrades， and how I love dancing. But my family situation has made it impossible for me to come to China again. It is hopeless.

After my father was gone， my mother now is down with cancer and sometimes she does not know who I am. Her right hand and right leg are numb like wood and her head is swollen. She cannot take care of herself. I spoon-feed her every day. I tried to find nurses to take care of her. The firs nurse was too old; she wanted nothing but money; the second one looked not so old， but she was a petty thief. The third one was stupid， and she took advantage of my mother. The fourth one spent all her time eating and watching television. I do not want nurses anymore. I do everything now. I am pretty exhausted...

Some of my men and women friends here are government officials. They want to help me. One woman friend is mayor of Crimea. With their kindness， I now receive a monthly pension of 6，670 kopecks (about 133 US dollars)， 100% more than the pension received by those who are my peers. My mother誷 monthly pension is 3，320 kopecks， only half of mine. My friends want me totake the office of the cultural minister of Crimea City or any other important positions. I am grateful for their care and kindness， but I have declined all offers. I want to take care of my mother heart and soul...

I miss China very much.

One day， two Chinese friends came from Beijing to visit my city. They asked me to find a Chinese restaurant. I said OK without hesitation， for I am glad to receive Chinese friends. I met them at the railway station and took them to the Chinese restaurant. The chef there is a man who comes from Qingdao and speaks Chinese and Russian. He spoke Chinese with the two Chinese and made sure he knew exactly what they wanted. The Chinese guests liked the food very much. They used chopsticks to eat. This reminds me of the food I enjoyed in China. We chatted and I felt as if I were back in China again. Dear Papa， please write to me or call me if your Chinese friends are coming to Crimea and need my help. I will do my best to be a good hostess. The years I spent in China are most beautiful in my life. I often dream of my home in China.

Here is an interesting thing. Shortly after I was back from China. I was invited to talk about my China experience to the government officials in my city. I spoke for two hours and my stories sounded like fairytales. They asked all kinds of questions and I answered. Everyone wanted to visit China at once. I feel that people in Crimea know little about China. I feel obliged to let them know how prosperous China is， how happy Chinese people are， and how nice they are to experts from our country. Everything is good in Hangzhou， China.

Dear Papa and Mama， you see， this is how I live here.

The Second Letter

Dear Papa，

I received your call from the academy’s office at 8 o’Olock Ukraine time. How excited I was. How I was happy to talk with you， the president and the Party secretary. Words fail to express my happiness right now. My tears are falling while I am writing this letter. I am grateful to you for such a huge happiness from you. I felt warm and happy to hear your voice. You have never forgotten me， you are always taking care of me， and thinking of me. Especially in my difficult days， you did not desert me and you did not let me feel lonely. You took care of me and helped me. I will never forget you in my life. I am very grateful to you. Today is a holiday because you， the president and the Party secretary called me.

Please send my sincere appreciation to the president and the secretary. Of course， I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to you. Thank you for taking the bus to the academy and telling my situation to the president， the secretary， all the teachers and all my students. Now they know how I love them， and how I miss them and the academy， how I miss my work at the academy， and how I miss Hangzhou and China.

Whenever possible， I talk to people in my country about China， Hangzhou， and our academy. I show them the pictures of Hangzhou and China， and our academy， and the pictures of you， students， leaders， and all the teachers at the academy. Some VIPs here have known you all by now. I wish you health and happiness. If possible， I would like to come back to Hangzhou and work at the academy again.

Our students will graduate this year. Let them decide what they want to do. Our academy has cultivated them and paid so much attention to them. How many sleepless nights I spent for them! I devoted my energy to them. I hope they will be a credit to the academy. We can set up better classes in the future and train better students. In China， there are many students of talent and virtue. We can teach them well so long as they wish to learn.

Please write me and give me a detailed account of all the teachers， students and the academy. How I wish I could work with you again and help our academy.
