The day before they went on the 周air碩pla選ne譯， Teresa said，“Dolls！ Dolls！ I can takemy dolls. I want to take all my dolls.”“One！ ”said her mom. “You can bring justone doll.”

在上飛機的前一天，特雷莎說：“娃娃！娃娃！我可以帶我的娃娃。我想帶上我所有的娃娃?！薄耙粋€！”她媽媽說，“你只能帶一個娃娃?！?/p>

“But，”said Teresa，“I will be very sad without all my dolls.”“Two！ ”saidher mom. “You can bring just two dolls. You cant bring all your dolls. You have500 dolls.”

“但是，”特雷莎說，“不帶上我所有的娃娃，我會很難過?！薄皟蓚€！”媽媽說，“你只能帶兩個娃娃。你不能帶上所有的娃娃。你有500 個娃娃?！?/p>

“Ha！ ”said Teresa， “I have just 27 dolls. You know that I have just 27 dolls， not500 dolls.”“Two！ ”said Teresas mom.“You can bring just two dolls.”“OK！ OK！ ”said Teresa.

“哈！”特雷莎說，“我只有27 個娃娃。你知道我只有27 個娃娃，沒有500個?！薄皟蓚€！”媽媽說，“你只能帶兩個娃娃。”“好吧！好吧！”特雷莎說。

So when Teresa came to the airport， she was carrying two dolls. She was alsocarrying a backpack that had 10 dolls in it， but her mom did not know about that.

于是當特雷莎來到機場時，她拿著兩個玩具娃娃。她還背著一個背包，里面裝了10 個玩具娃娃，但她媽媽并不知道。

After they got their tickets， a man said to the mom， “Can I look in yourbackpack？”“Yes，”said her mom. And another man said to Teresa， “Can I look inyour backpack？”“No！ ”said Teresa. “You may not look in my backpack. Mybackpack is top secret. Even my mom does not know what is in my backpack.”

她們拿到機票后，一個人對媽媽說：“我可以看看你的背包嗎？”“可以?！眿寢屨f。另一個對特雷莎說：“我可以看看你的背包嗎？”“不行！”特雷莎說道，“你不能看我的背包。我的背包是絕密。甚至我媽媽都不知道我的背包里裝著什么?！?/p>

“Right，”said the man.“But if I do not look in your backpack， then you do notget on the airplane.”“Well，”said Teresa，“OK.”So the man opened the backpackand all the dolls flew out and fell over the floor. “Oh my！ ”shouted the man.“Itsjust dolls，”shouted Teresa. The man said， “Sorry about that.”Then he put the dollsback into the backpack.

“好吧?！蹦侨苏f，“但如果我不看你的背包，那你就上不了飛機?！薄班牛碧乩咨f，“那好吧?！庇谑悄侨舜蜷_背包，所有的娃娃都飛了出來，掉了一地?！芭?，天哪！”那人喊道。“只是玩具娃娃。”特雷莎喊道。那人說：“對不起?！比缓笏涯切┩尥扪b回了背包里。

When Teresa got to her seat on the plane， a stewardess1 said， “What is in thatbackpack？ It is a really full backpack.”“Watch it！ ”said Teresa， and the stewardessopened the backpack. Dolls fell on the floor again.“Oh my！ ”shouted the stewardess.“Its just dolls，”shouted Teresa. The stewardess said，“I guess I am just nervous2.”

當特雷莎上了飛機坐到座位上時，一名空姐說：“那個背包里有什么？真是一個滿當當?shù)谋嘲?。”“小心！”特雷莎說，然后空姐就打開了背包，娃娃又掉了一地?！芭叮炷?！”空姐喊道。“只是玩具娃娃?！碧乩咨暗?。空姐說：“我想我只是有點緊張?！?/p>

Then the plane took off. After a while the stewardess came back and said，“There are 3 kids from China in the back of the plane and they couldnt stop cryingbecause their mommy did not let them bring their dolls. Can I please borrow 3 ofyour dolls？”“Sure，”said Teresa.

然后飛機起飛了。過了一會兒，那位空姐走過來說：“飛機的后排座位上有三個來自中國的孩子，他們不停地哭，因為他們的媽媽不讓他們帶玩具娃娃。你能借我三個娃娃嗎？”“當然可以。”特雷莎說。

After a while the stewardess came back and said， “There are 3 kids fromAfrica in the front of the plane and they couldnt stop crying because their mommydid not let them bring their dolls. Can I please borrow 3 more of your dolls？”“Sure，”said Teresa.

過了一會兒，那位空姐又過來說：“飛機的前排座位上有三個來自非洲的孩子，他們不停地哭，因為他們的媽媽不讓他們帶玩具娃娃。你能再借三個娃娃嗎？”“當然可以。”特雷莎說。

After a while the stewardess came back again and said， “There are 3 kids fromIreland in the back of the plane and they couldnt stop crying because their mommydid not let them bring their dolls. Can I please borrow 3 more of your dolls？”“Sure，”said Teresa.

又過了一會兒，那位空姐過來說：“飛機的后排座位上有三個愛爾蘭孩子，他們不停地哭，因為他們的媽媽不讓他們帶玩具娃娃。我能再借三個你的娃娃嗎？”“當然可以?！碧乩咨f。

Then everybody went to sleep. When the plane landed and they had to hurry upand get to the next plane. And Teresa did not get back her dolls. She only had onedoll left when she got to her grandmother. Happily， Teresas grandmother madeexcellent3 dolls， and she made Teresa 3 more dolls， but Teresa still missed the dollsshe had given away.

接著大家都睡覺了。當飛機降落時，她們不得不抓緊時間去搭乘下一班飛機。特雷莎沒有拿回她的玩具娃娃。當她來到祖母身邊時，只剩下一個娃娃了。幸運的是，特雷莎的祖母會做很棒的娃娃，她又給特雷莎做了三個娃娃，但特雷莎仍然很想念她送出去的那些娃娃。

Three months later， a big truck came to Teresas house and three men put threebig packages4 at the door. One package was from China. One package was fromIreland. One package was from Africa. Teresa opened the boxes and there were hernine dolls and also ten Chinese dolls， 10 African dolls and also 10 Irish dolls.

三個月后，一輛大卡車來到特雷莎家，三個人把三個大包裹放在了她家門口。其中一個包裹來自中國，一個包裹來自愛爾蘭，還有一個包裹來自非洲。特雷莎打開三個盒子，里面除了她那九個娃娃，還多出來十個中國娃娃、十個非洲娃娃和十個愛爾蘭娃娃。

“My dolls came back with even more dolls！ ”said Teresa.“How did they knowwhere to send them？”Her mom said，“While you were asleep in the airplane， I wentand put name tags5 on all your dolls because I was afraid that they might get lost.”“Thanks， Mom！ ”

“我的娃娃回來了，還有更多的娃娃！”特雷莎說，“他們怎么知道把它們送到哪里？”媽媽說：“當你在飛機上睡著的時候，我去給你所有的娃娃都貼上了名字標簽，因為我擔心它們會丟失?！薄爸x謝媽媽！”
