This is just something I am really happy about and I need to share it withyou all.

這是一件讓我非常高興的事，我必須和大家分享一下。

My mother has been very sick since I was little. She could be in a wheelchair1by now， but still goes without one. She fights every day to walk or even stand up atsome point.

我媽媽從我小時候起就病得很厲害。她現(xiàn)在可以坐輪椅了，但她還是不坐。她每天都在努力行走，甚至于在某個時刻站立起來。

Recently2 she got some walking sticks3 and we started to go on small walkstogether just in a forest down the road. Today I told her I was going to a lake nearwhere we live， and she went there with me. I was very surprised when she got in herbathing suit4， because I never saw her in any kind of water before. We used to haveholidays at the Baltic Sea， but she always stayed on the beach.

最近她得到了幾把拐棍，我們開始一起在路那頭的森林里散步。今天我告訴她，我要去我們家附近的一個湖，她和我一起去那里。當(dāng)她穿上泳衣時，我非常驚訝，因?yàn)槲乙郧皬奈匆娺^她下水。我們過去常去波羅的海度假，但她總是待在海灘上。

“Maybe Ill go in a bit，”she said.

“也許我可以再往水里走一點(diǎn)。”她說。

We were there and I got in very quickly after helping her walk over thesand. I swam a little round and when I turned back I saw her knee5 deep in thewater！ I was so surprised and swam back at once. To my surprise she went infurther and further and laughed like a little child （I have never in my life heardher real laugh）. And then she did it. She took the last step and just swam！

我們到了那里，在幫她走過沙灘后，我很快就下水了。我游了一小圈然后往回游時，我看到她的膝蓋深深地浸在水中！我很驚訝，立刻游了回去。令我驚訝的是，她越走越遠(yuǎn)，笑得像個小孩子（我這輩子從未聽過她真正的笑聲）。然后她做到了。她邁出了最后一步，游了起來！

She swam less than ten seconds because of her legs and she was afraid todrown6. I helped her back and she laughed the entire7 time.

因?yàn)樗耐炔缓?，她只游了不到十秒鐘，而且她害怕溺水。我扶著她回去，她一直笑個不停。

We talked about it and she said that this is the lake she used to8 visit when shewas a child. Her mother would take her here to swim nearly every weekend in thesummer. She could not even remember the last time she swam， but it was before allmy sisters and brothers were born. My oldest brother is over 30 by now.

我們談了談這事，她說這是她小時候經(jīng)常去的湖，在夏天幾乎每個周末她媽媽都會帶她來這里游泳。她甚至記不起自己最近一次游泳是什么時候了，但那是在我所有的兄弟姐妹出生之前。而我最年長的哥哥現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)30 多歲了。

I am just so happy for her.

我真為她感到高興。
