黃河，中華民族的母親河，中華文明的搖籃。從一百多萬年前的舊石器時代開始，黃河文化就在中華文明的歷史長河里綻放出絢麗奪目的光彩。

裴李崗文化、磁山文化、仰韶文化、大汶口文化、龍山文化、馬家窯文化、齊家文化……它們沿河而生，構(gòu)成了華夏文明的主體?！兑捉?jīng)》《道德經(jīng)》《詩經(jīng)》《論語》《尚書》等典籍在此完成，諸子百家的代表人物大多出生和活動于黃河流域，中國古代四大發(fā)明在這里誕生，勤勞智慧的中華兒女，用豐富的思想文化與科技成果鑄就中華文明的根和魂，為中華民族堅定文化自信打下堅實根基。

2013年11月，習(xí)近平總書記視察位于山東濟寧的孔子研究院，新時代文化“兩創(chuàng)”的號角從黃河岸邊響徹全國。

The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation, and the cradle of the Chinese civilization. Since the Paleolithic age over a million years ago, the Yellow River culture has been glowing with gorgeous splendor in the long history of the Chinese civilization.

The Peiligang culture, the Cishan culture, the Yangshao culture, the Dawenkou culture, the Longshan culture, the Majiayao culture, and the Qijia culture... Born along the river, they constitute the main body of Chinese civilization.The Book of Changes,The Book of Tao and Teh (Book of the Way and Its Virtue),The Book of Songs,The Analects of Confucius,andShangshu (The Book of Documents)were completed here; most representatives of pre-Qin philosophers were born and lived in the Yellow River Basin; the four great inventions of ancient China were born here. With rich ideological, cultural, scientific and technological achievements, the diligent and intelligent Chinese people have created the root and soul of the Chinese civilization, and laid a solid foundation for the Chinese nation to strengthen cultural self-confidence.

In November 2013, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the Confucius Research Institute in Jining. Then, the clarion call for cultural “Creative Transformation and Innovative Development” in a new era reverberated throughout the country from the banks of the Yellow River.
