The “BLCUP International Chinese Library”， co-founded by Beijing Language and Culture University Press (BLCUP) and Egypt Hikmet Cultural Investment Company， was officially open and put into operation in Cairo， Egypt on March 30， 2022. On opening day， more than 5，000 books of over 400 varieties were showcased， attracting numerous local readers.

In 2021， to expand markets in Africa and the Arab region， BLCUP Overseas Business Department contacted Egypt Hikmet Cultural Investment Company to discuss the establishment of BLCUP book dealerships and “BLCUP International Chinese Library” in Egypt. After many rounds of negotiations， the two parties finally determined to work closely in selling， promoting， and developing localized Chinese language products. In December 2021， the first batch of purchased books shipped. After more than three months， they arrived in Cairo， Egypt in mid-March， 2022. In the meantime， the second batch of purchased books is on its way to Cairo.

The “BLCUP Chinese Library” in Cairo， Egypt is BLCUP’s first exclusive library in a North African and Arabic country. So far， “BLCUP Chinese Libraries” have taken root in Cambodia， Mongolia， Italy， and Egypt. The exclusive libraries not only give the local citizens access to the Chinese language and culture but also lay a foundation for the global promotion of BLCUP brand products.
