Step I : Lead-in
Show some pictures to help students learn some new words about weather.
Ask students to read the new words. Make sure they know the meaning of each word.
Then ask them to do activity 1.
Help students match the words with the symbols.
Step II: Listening
In this procedure, ask students to listen to the tape and check the correct information in the?table. If the information is wrong, correct it.
Step III Reading
In this procedure, ask students to read the dialogue and do activity 5.

1. joke
joke作動(dòng)詞, 意為"開(kāi)玩笑"。
(1) Youre joking!表示對(duì)某人所說(shuō)的話(huà)表示不相信或驚訝, 也可以說(shuō)“You must be joking! ”。
(2)joke with sb. 意為“和某人開(kāi)玩笑”。如:He often jokes with me.
(3)joke about sth. 意為“就某事開(kāi)玩笑”。如:Peter often jokes about my mistakes.
joke還可作名詞, 意為“笑話(huà);玩笑”, 為可數(shù)名詞。tell jokes意為“講笑話(huà)”;make jokes about意為“取笑…”, 相當(dāng)于laugh at。如:The teacher often tells jokes in class.
2. probably
probably是副詞, 意為“很可能地;大概”,它所表示的可能性比較大, 表示有充分的依據(jù)、合乎情理或有望實(shí)現(xiàn)。如:
It will probably clear up this afternoon.
3. What …?like …?
What …?like? 相當(dāng)于how。如:
—?Whats the story like? (= Hows the story?) 這個(gè)故事怎么樣?
—?Its very interesting.
4.better get going! 好了,走吧。
better get going 相當(dāng)于had better go,
Wed better get going (= go now), or well be late.

In this procedure, ask students to listen to the tape and help students find out the different connotation of different of intonation.
