There is a poor student living in a small town. He has very little money and has to live in a small room near a restaurant. His room is near the kitchen. The restaurant owner is a very selfish man. No one likes him. But he is a good cook and many people come to his restaurant.

One day， when the owner is walking quietly in his kitchen， he hears the poor student talking to his friend.

“You arent very happy， I think， because you are living in a poor room like this.” His friend says.

“Oh， no，” says the student， “I am busy with my studies and I am not interested in my room.”

“But you have no money to buy nice things to eat.”

“Yes， its true. I eat only rice. But the smells from the kitchen make the rice nice indeed，” says the student.

The restaurant owner is angry. The student is stealing the smells from the kitchen！ He decides to take him to court.

After the selfish owner tells this thing. The judge says， “The student is wrong.” The restaurant owner is happy and the poor student is very afraid. What can he do？ He has only a little money.

The judge asks the student if he has money. The student takes five coins and gives them to the judge.

“Let the coins fall into your left hand，” says the judge. The court is very quiet and everyone hears the sound of the coins when they fall into the students left hand.

“Well，” says the judge to the restaurant owner， “Do you hear his money？ Thats the pay for your smells.”

有一個(gè)窮學(xué)生住在一個(gè)小鎮(zhèn)上。他沒(méi)有多少錢，只好住在一個(gè)飯店附近的小房間里。他的房間靠近廚房。飯店的主人是個(gè)十分自私的人，沒(méi)有人喜歡他。但是他是一個(gè)好廚師，所以許多人都來(lái)他的飯店用餐。

有一天，當(dāng)?shù)曛髟趶N房里靜靜踱步時(shí)，聽到窮學(xué)生在和他的朋友交談。

“我覺(jué)得你不快樂(lè)，”朋友說(shuō)，“因?yàn)槟阕≡谶@樣一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)陋的房間里?！?/p>

“哦，不，”學(xué)生說(shuō)，“我忙于學(xué)習(xí)，對(duì)住房并不感興趣?！?/p>

“但是你沒(méi)有錢買好吃的東西呀?！?/p>

學(xué)生說(shuō)：“這倒是事實(shí)，我只吃米飯，但從廚房飄來(lái)的菜香，真地也使我的飯變香了。”

店主很生氣，這個(gè)學(xué)生在偷盜氣味！他決定送學(xué)生去法院。

當(dāng)這個(gè)自私的店主講完這件事后，法官說(shuō)：“這位學(xué)生錯(cuò)了?！钡曛骱芨吲d，窮學(xué)生很害怕，他能做什么呢？他只有一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)錢。

法官問(wèn)學(xué)生是否有錢，學(xué)生拿出五個(gè)硬幣，遞給了法官。

法官說(shuō)：“讓硬幣落入你的左手?！狈ㄍズ莒o，當(dāng)硬幣落進(jìn)學(xué)生左手時(shí)，每個(gè)人都聽到了硬幣撞擊的聲音。

“好了，”法官對(duì)店主說(shuō)，“你聽到錢的聲音了嗎？那就是氣味的報(bào)酬?！?/p>
