My family

Hello， Im Chen Yixuan. Im a student of Lian Xi middle school in Luxi county. There are four people in my family—my father， mother， my sister and I.

My father is 42 years old. We always call him “Mr. Chen”. He is an ordinary worker. I think he is a very good father. Every day he gets up early and makes breakfast for us. After school I always see him and my sister waiting for me at the school gate. He likes reading books and watching TV. He thinks he can get a lot of knowledge by reading and watching TV.

My mother is 40 years old. She is not tall and she has two big eyes. I think she is a beautiful mother. She has a clothing store and she often opens the store till night. My mother is always busy， but she loves us very much. She always buys books for us， because she wants us to be top students.

Im 13 years old. I wear glasses. I like reading and drawing. I always read books or draw cartoon characters after school. My sister is 9 years old. She is a pupil in Luxi primary school. She likes singing and dancing. She is a lovely girl and she often makes us laugh.

My family is a happy family. I love my family.

To Be an Optimistic Person

Do you see the glass as half-full rather than all empty？ The two different answers to this question represent two different attitudes towards life—optimistic attitude and pessimistic attitude.

Optimism always leads to happiness， health and success while pessimism， by contrast， results in hopelessness， sickness and failure. Thats because optimists and pessimists deal with the same challenges and disappointments in very different ways. When things go wrong，the pessimist tends to blame himself， while the optimist looks for loop holes. The optimist feels in control of his overall life. If things are going badly， he acts quickly， looking for solutions， forming a new plan of action， and seeking for advice. On the contrary， the pessimist yields to the arrangement of fate and moves slowly. He doesnt seek advice， since he assumes nothing can be done.

Most people are a mix of optimism and pessimism. Optimism is important in all aspects of our lives. If you can change your mind from pessimism to optimism， you can change your life.

A Survey on Study Abroad

A survey is taken on public opinions of the fact that many parents spend a large amount of money sending their children to study abroad， some of whom are middle school students.

From it we can see that 38 percent of those surveyed think it is worth the money letting children study abroad to get a better education so that they can get pay in return in the future.

However， some are against of it. 62% of them hold the view that it is difficult for young people to live and study in a foreign country. Its easy for them to get into some bad habits and the cost of education in another country is ten times as much as that at home.

The survey shows that the government should set up different kinds of schools to meet the demands of different children.
