延安大劇院是陜北文化的守望者，這里誕生了黃河大合唱，走出了新中國的文藝工作者，是中華民族血性精神的見證。大劇院設(shè)計延續(xù)主軸線，與老城、行政中心布局相呼應(yīng)；內(nèi)外統(tǒng)一的真實性，濃郁特色的地域性和藝術(shù)性，表現(xiàn)出大劇院不只是流淌樂符的殿堂。7道大拱組成的公共大廳，巧妙合理地串接起三大劇場，藝術(shù)混凝土的使用，極大地豐富了建筑的表現(xiàn)力。自然的肌理，建筑如從大地中生長出來，三段組合，銜接過渡自然，與延安大地融為一體。

它是老百姓感受藝術(shù)的高雅殿堂，同時也是一個城市的文化中心。

The Yan'an Grand Theatre acts as the watchman of northern Shaanxi culture. The Yellow River Chorus was born here, and the composers and artists who have stepped out of New China witnessed the bloody spirit of the Chinese nation.The design of the Grand Theatre continues the main axis, echoing the layout of the old city and the new administrative centre; the authenticity of internal and external uniformity, strong regional and artistic features, shows that the Grand Theatre is not just a hall of flowing music. The public hall composed of seven arches, which cleverly and rationally connects the three major theatres. The use of artistic concrete has greatly enriched the expressiveness of the building. The natural texture makes the building look like it has grown out of the earth, the threesegment texture combination connects naturally and merges with the land of Yan'an.

It is an elegant palace for ordinary people to experience art, and it is also a cultural centre of the city.
