Abstract: In recent years, some international public opinions accuse that China uses cooperation projects to make “debt trap” for other countries. Sri Lanka was a first claimed “victim”. Its government endures long-standing debt problem. Although neither China nor Chinese loans were the main cause of it, international public opinions and even researchers fabricated the accusation without solid evidence. There are very few thorough studies on Sri Lankan government debt problem and its relation with Chinese loans. The case of Sri Lanka is representative in China’s cooperation with the developing countries along the Belt and Road, reflecting the cooperation mode with political mutual trust as the base and the state-owned enterprises and capital as the lead can be target of attacks. The future promotion of the Belt and Road cooperation requires improvement in details in implementation.

Abstract: The Trump administration’s foreign policy and its impact have always received much attention. The Trump administration’s foreign policy is embodied in the strategic framework of great power competition, the policy goal of “America First”, and the fragmented group thinking in decision-making. The causes of the complex structure can be understood as interactive resonance effect of factors such as the response to international environmental changes, the reconstruction of US domestic identity, the electoral political pressure that Trump faces, and the “confluence” of Trump and the establishment elites. Trump’s foreign policy has already had irreversible negative impacts, and the US foreign strategy and policy have entered a major directional adjustment phase.

Abstract: Since Trump came to power, he has repeatedly expressed his dissatisfaction with the multilateral international mechanism established and maintained by the US. As the dominant power of the international order, Trump’s intention to destroy the existing international cooperation mechanism is not to abandon US leadership or completely dismantle the international order, but to prevent rising powers from continuing to benefit from the US-led international order. Its main feature is selective “revisionism”, which promotes some changes in the current international order while retaining the core features of American dominance. Trump believes that the United States can intimidate all its competitors with its strong military and economic strength, reduce the “free rider” effect and correct the “unfair” system of international rules. The “revisionist” diplomacy has seriously impacted the international trade order and the global governance mechanism.

Abstract: As cyberspace has increasingly integrated into the real world, the application of the principle of sovereignty in cyberspace has become a consensus in the international community. Since the cyberspace and the real space cannot be completely mapped, the principle of sovereignty based on the territorial jurisdiction cannot be fully applied in the virtual cyberspace. Due to different priority on the core national interests, the major countries place different emphasis on the practice of sovereignty in cyberspace. With the rapid development of information and communication technology, the application of the principle of sovereignty in cyberspace will face greater challenges. Cyberspace will become one of the major battlefields for the strategic competition among major countries, and China should improve its ability to apply the principle of sovereignty to safeguard its core national interests.

Abstract: Non-traditional security study has gradually developed into a global topic and a multidisciplinary field. Using bibliometric method with the knowledge mapping tool “Citespace”, the authors conduct a quantitative analysis of 2958 literatures published by CNKI in the past 20 years with the subject of “non-traditional security”, and by combining characteristic analysis with qualitative and quantitative analysis to analyze the knowledge maps of the temporal distribution and disciplinary distribution, institution and author cooperation network, keywords co-occurrence network, cluster analysis, the authors find that China’s non-traditional security study is characterized by the broadening of research category, the deepening of research thoughts and the diversification of research methods. Based on the development tendency of the new era at home and abroad, this article analyzes the new challenges of China’s non-traditional security, and expects a more systematic security theory, more institutionalized security practice and more scientific security judgment from the perspectives of non-traditional security’s epistemology, problem domains and methodology.
