高中的英語課文比初中的英語課文篇幅更長，難度更大，高一的學(xué)生在閱讀課文時，有時不免覺得蠻辛苦蠻枯燥。但是在學(xué)習(xí)課文時，如果能創(chuàng)造性地閱讀，靈活解讀文本和整合句子，既能增加課文閱讀的趣味性又能激發(fā)思維能力。

下面以人教版必修3第五單元《Canada-“The True North”》為例講講怎樣在學(xué)習(xí)課文的過程中，解讀文本，整合句子，增加樂趣。

這個單元的閱讀課文《A Trip on“The True North”》是一篇旅游散文，記敘了Li Daiyu和Liu Qian的旅途見聞。本文以時間為線索，以地點轉(zhuǎn)移為順序描述了加拿大的自然美景、人口、植物、動物、主要城市、五大湖以及淡水資源。在閱讀過程中，可以對文章中的句子結(jié)構(gòu)進(jìn)行整合，同時訓(xùn)練寫作技能：

1. 原文句子：Here in Vancouver， youre in Canadas warmest part. People say it is Canadas most beautiful city， surrounded by mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

整合為：Vancouver， the warmest part of Canada， is the most beautiful city， surrounded by mountains and the pacific ocean.

亮點：用同位語解釋Vancouver，同時有過去分詞短語，補充說明the city。

2. 原文句子：Skiing in the Rocky Mountains and sailing in the harbour make Vancouver one of Canadas most popular cities to live in. Its population is increasing rapidly.

整合為：Thanks to its good location， skiing in the Rocky Mountains and sailing in the harbor make Vancouver one of Canadas most popular cities to live in， which results in the rapid increase of the population.

亮點：添加原因和使用定語從句描述結(jié)果，讓句子的意思更清晰。

3. 原文句子：The coast north of Vancouver has some of the oldest and most beautiful forests in the world. It is so wet there that the trees are extremely tall， some measuring over 90 metres.

整合為：It is the warm climate that boosts the growth of the oldest and beautiful forests./ So wet is the climate that the trees are extremely tall， some measuring over 90 metres.

亮點：加入強調(diào)句結(jié)構(gòu)來整合句子，突出天氣所起的重要作用。還可以使用So...that...的倒裝句來整合句子。

4. 原文句子：Canada is quite empty. Canadians live within a few hundred kilometres of the USA border， and the population is only slightly over 30 million.

整合為：With a population of slightly over 30 million， Canada seems quite empty， which makes Canadians live within a few kilometres of the USA border.

亮點：使用介詞with結(jié)構(gòu)，表達(dá)地大人稀的原因。

5. 原文句子：They went through a wheat-growing province and saw farms that covered thousands of acres.

整合為：Thanks to its warm climate on the west coast， one of its provinces is abundant in wheat， with farms covering thousands of acres.

亮點：添加原因，改用了with的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)，改用了“富產(chǎn)（be abundant in）”的表達(dá)，豐富了句子的色彩。

6. 原文句子：An urban area， the busy port city of Thunder Bay at the top of the Great Lakes. Ocean ships can sail up the Great Lake.

整合為：Thunder Bay， a busy port city at the top of the Great Lakes， is an urban city with a prosperous business of shipping.

亮點：使用了同位語來說明主語，用了with介詞短語作為修飾語。

7. 原文句子：Canada has more fresh water than any other country in the world.

整合為：Because of the Great lakes， Canada has more fresh water than any other country in the world.

亮點：添加原因，豐富句子內(nèi)容。

閱讀課文，在解讀文本的同時，可以通過以上方式整合和改編課文的句子，可以讓句子的邏輯性更強，同時我們也能更明白在英語寫作中如何把句子寫得有理有據(jù)。更重要的是，通過整合句子可以收到以下效果：一是學(xué)生覺得原來自己也可以和老師一起把人教版的教材進(jìn)行整合改編，增強了對語言學(xué)習(xí)的自信心;二是在整合的過程中，學(xué)生對課文的理解更加深入透徹，比教師滿堂灌的效果要好。
