Speaking of sports， some lively images may come to our minds that people of all ages running and sweating with bright smiles on their faces. Everyone knows that doing sports make people lively， refreshed and energetic as well as build a strong body and lead to healthy life.

But is there anything more we are able to obtain from sports？

As for me，apart from those advantages mentioned above，sports seem like something abstract. It feels like a kind of spirit. And above all， I think sports is a kind of cohesive force.

Here I must mention a basketball match I have seen，which was imprinted in my brain.

It was a soul-stirring final match between our school team and an excellent team from another school. People filled with the school gym，burst into cheering and screaming. We held our breath，fixing our eyes on the only small ball in the field. We cheered loudly when our team scored goals and felt really upset when they miss the ball.

At that moment， both players and audiences， all the students were united as one and were concentrating our efforts on the same goal——to win the match.

Suddenly，I felt a great power of cohesion，and it seemed the score was even not that important， because we had already achieved something more valuable，and that was the feeling of cohesion，that was the magical power of sports， that was the spirit of sports.

The basketball matches between schools can hold students together and make us united. So，what about the Olympic Games that hold sports games between nations？

Lets review the motivating and exciting summer in 2016. When our womens volleyball team won the gold medal in the Olympic Games，all the Chinese got together to celebrate and that was the cohesive force the sports give us.

As for the society， theres no doubt that we are in great need of cohesive force that brings people altogether with the same goal to make our society move forward .

And in my opinion，that is the real meaning of sports.
