        哈爾濱西站的建設(shè)目標(biāo),從一開始就不僅僅定位于一座單純意義的火車站,而是新一代都市副中心的發(fā)動機(jī)。它承載著城市之間和城市內(nèi)部的特大交通集散中心,給城市帶來新的發(fā)展機(jī)遇,會大幅提升土地價(jià)值,帶動整個(gè)片區(qū)的長足發(fā)展。

        哈爾濱是一個(gè)具有濃郁歐洲風(fēng)情的北方城市,因此在哈爾濱西站的建筑設(shè)計(jì)上,設(shè)計(jì)師充分考慮建筑的地域文化特色和地域氣候特征,力求營造一個(gè)溫馨的城市客廳。站房主體采用拱結(jié)構(gòu),同時(shí)在立面上形成流暢曲線,使火車站具有強(qiáng)烈的標(biāo)識性和鮮明地方特色,與哈爾濱傳統(tǒng)建筑取得呼應(yīng),同時(shí)具有現(xiàn)代氣息。

        東站房兩側(cè)立面采用較大塊實(shí)體墻面以適應(yīng)哈爾濱寒冷的氣候特征。在中央進(jìn)站廳部分采用適當(dāng)通透的立面處理以突出火車站的主入口,使車站以開放的姿態(tài)面向城市,并使車站高大寬敞的內(nèi)部空間在立面上得到很好表達(dá)。站房兩側(cè)立面與站臺相接處墻體處理延續(xù)東站房兩側(cè)的實(shí)體墻面的處理方式,使整個(gè)站房渾然一體。建筑立面材料主要采用棕色陶板,力求在寒冷地區(qū)營造出一個(gè)溫暖的場所。

        哈爾濱西站同時(shí)也是一個(gè)匯集了鐵路、地鐵、長途、公交、BRT、出租及社會車輛的復(fù)雜的綜合交通樞紐項(xiàng)目。設(shè)計(jì)中秉承"以人為本、功能第一”的原則,堅(jiān)持交通建設(shè)與開發(fā)并重,從國鐵站房、城市軌道交通(4號線、5號線)站點(diǎn)、長途客運(yùn)站、公交站場、出租車場、BRT站場等各類交通設(shè)施終端統(tǒng)籌考慮,充分考慮交通建筑使用者的各類需求,使換乘步行距離實(shí)現(xiàn)最小化,并配置合理的交通樞紐配套商業(yè),打造全國領(lǐng)先的大型綜合交通樞紐綜合體。同時(shí)針對哈爾濱氣候特點(diǎn),哈爾濱西客運(yùn)站安全舒適的地上、地下雙套進(jìn)站換乘流線系統(tǒng)設(shè)計(jì)與溫暖高效的室內(nèi)交通空間,很好地滿足了嚴(yán)寒地區(qū)建筑的使用要求。

        Harbin West Railway Station is a new super railway transit complex in China's ice city, Harbin, also known as "Eastern Russia." It integrates railway, subway, urban public transport, and many other modes of transportation into one central hub. In terms of the integrated layout, the project includes the design of the station building and the transport hub in front of the station, as well as underground space, exchange space, a square landscape area, business development, and other sub-projects, among which the design of station building, as the most important building in the whole hub, becomes the key to the design of the whole complex. The station building is structured to be an elevated railway station. The I-shaped main volume of the building comprises eastern and western wings connected with elevated waiting area over platform. An underpass exit and city corridor are designed below the platforms.

        With consideration of both safety and lighting quality, the inner space of the station building is designed with 70-metre-long large-span arched roof. The bright and spacious waiting hall creates a strong sense of space. Business sections are laid out on both sides of the hall, with several measures of function division and format changes, which are used on the encircling corridors to avoid the lack of space forms. The facade design uses warm creamcoloured stones, and with red brick embellished in parts, which serves to provide warm and bright visual effect and highlight Harbin’s welcoming atmosphere. The furred ceiling below the roof truss utilizes microporous aluminium plate seal splicing, and the ceiling below the skylight features modular triangular perforated aluminium plate splicing, which takes the abstract form of snow fl akes. Hidden lamps are designed on both sides of the skylight, and the lighting at night will highlight the arched space and lessen the effect of the skylight, presenting a more graceful overall structure. The design of the Harbin West railway station aims at a balance between comprehensive transportation hub and the climate of severe cold region, local urban culture, and transport building features. With synchronous completion of Harbin-Dalian high-speed rail, Harbin, the frigid-zone city full of northern spirit in China, will have a new warm city living room.
