情態(tài)動詞在Thanksgiving Party 中的應用
——以人教版Go for it! 八年級上冊Unit 9為例

知識目標: 通過本課的學習掌握can/could在表示邀請時的提問和相應的肯定與否定回答,同時學會用must和should描述party規(guī)則。
情感目標:了解感恩節(jié)我們應該要做什么,知道用情態(tài)動詞禮貌地邀請他人是很重要的社交禮儀,并且知道在參加公共活動時遵守規(guī)則和秩序的重要性。
Unit 9 Can you come to my party? 這個單元的話題是參加party,語法重點是情態(tài)動詞can表示邀請,以Thanksgiving Party為話題展開此課。上課當天是Thanksgiving Day, 所以,對于學生來說,這個話題是真實存在的,同時學生會對感恩節(jié)很有興趣。
步驟一: Warming-up :生活中的情態(tài)動詞。
按順序在PPT中呈現(xiàn)這兩個諺語,學生自由發(fā)言,談談他們對這個諺語的理解。
Friends must part. 天下無不散之筵席。
You never know what you can do till you try. 凡事試過才知道。
呈現(xiàn)完這兩個句子后,繼續(xù)告訴學生,情態(tài)動詞不僅大量存在于諺語中,而且還在大量的歌曲中可以找到,希望學生接下來可以聽歌曲找出里面的情態(tài)動詞can/could+ 動詞原形這個結(jié)構(gòu)。
(1)When the heat of the rolling world ____ be turned away and enchanted moment and it sees me through.

步驟二: Lead in
Part 1: 首先看一段關于感謝的視頻,讓學生猜他們?yōu)槭裁匆@首歌,看完視頻后,學生可以根據(jù)歌曲中的Thank you 來猜測出唱歌的目的是為了表達感謝。此時教師繼續(xù)提問Why do they sing Thank you? Is it a special day? 學生繼續(xù)可以回答出來 Thanksgiving day!教師繼續(xù)提問:感恩節(jié)的食物是什么? Turkey. 感恩節(jié)的日期是? Nov. 26th.
教師和學生分享感恩節(jié)歌曲,聽關于感恩節(jié)派對的對話并填詞。

核對完答案之后,組織學生小組討論can/ could的用法:

Part 2: 旨在讓學生掌握用must/mustn’t, should/ shouldn’t描述party規(guī)則,并在情境中體會must比should的語氣要更加強烈。
找規(guī)律:在剛才的聽力中有兩個學生可以去參加Party,他們要去Party需要遵守什么規(guī)則呢,他們應該做什么不應該做什么?請學生看圖后完成句子。
(1)Students _________ arrive at the party before 7:00. We______________ be ________.
(2) Students _________________ drop litters, we _______ take out the trash after the party.
(3)Students _________ wear school uniforms. We______ wear our own clothes.
看圖談論完規(guī)則之后,小組討論總結(jié)must和should:
談論規(guī)則時:
(1)可以用________ 來表示“應該”,可以用_________來表示“不應該”。
(2)可以用_________來表示“必須”,可以用_________來表示“禁止”。
(3)____ 比________ 語氣要強烈。
(4)should/ must 后接_________。
步驟三: 操練can, must, should的相關句型在實際生活中的應用。
通過幸運轉(zhuǎn)盤這個小游戲,小組派代表在電腦上啟動轉(zhuǎn)盤,轉(zhuǎn)到的分數(shù)為小組的得分,然后該小組合作完成和Thanksgiving Party有關的情景交際的句子。
(1)Luo Xiangyu wants to come to the party with Liu Jiankun, so he can ask Liu Jiankun:“_______________ to the party with me? ”
(2)Liu Jiankun wants to go, but he has to study for the test, so he can say: “_____, ___________________ .”
(3)On the thanksgiving party, Luo Xiangyu sees a nice girl for the first time, he had better introduce himself like this:______

(4)After the party, Luo Xiangyu wants to take some food out to share with his friends, but it is not allowed. If you are the monitor you should tell him “_ _______________________________!”
步驟四: 文化滲透——Reading
旨在通過課本外的補充閱讀,幫助學生了解西方的感恩節(jié)文化,讓學生了解在西方國家的感恩節(jié)party上人們通常能做些什么?閱讀后學生回答相關問題。
(1)What can people do to celebrate Thanksgiving?
People can enjoy turkey, give gifts, have a picnic.
(2)Must People go to work during the Thanksgiving Holiday?
They needn’t work.
(3)Can students stay at home during the Thanksgiving Holiday?
Yes, they can.
步驟五:Writing.(Output)
根據(jù)海報中松山湖Thanksgiving Party的通知,希望學生寫一封邀請信,請他們最好的朋友來參加,并詳細告知具體活動,注意事項等。
