An Eclectic Style of Rooms Suites – The Beauty of Harmony
Located on 16 Avenue de l'Opéra, the predecessor of the Nolinski is a six storey apartment building. The hotel is moments away from several famous landmarks, the Louvre is 700 meters to the left, and the iconic eclectic architecture of The Paris Opera House is 850 meters to the right. The hotel is one street away from the famous Rue Saint Honoré where all global fashion brands gathered (the high rent of Champs Elysees street has moved many boutiques here). Staying here means the best part of Paris is guaranteed.
There is no doubt that certain logic needs to exist between the hotel and the location, so to allow the natural integration of the hotel and the environment, and to bring out the beauty of Paris. Nolinski Paris is designed by a new generation French designer Jean Louis Deniot, whose works have always been known for its eclectic aesthetic. The design doesn't adhere rigidly to just one style, and is not in excessive pursuit of luxury, nor minimalism, but derives the styles from a wide range of sources and has since created a harmonious beauty based on comfort.
The hotel has 45 rooms including 9 suites. Aside from the usual grey tone the designer used, each private apartment employs different colors of green, raspberry, beige and tawn, so that no rooms repeat themselves and each is a unique Parisian accommodation with a distinct personality. The use of thick velvet curtains and plush carpet adds to the intimate feel of the room. The California Beach Villa headboard and Louis XVI-styled furniture from the 70s in the room bring together the fresh modernism and ancient elegance. The independent minibar is styled after a bank safe, which is a fantastic idea; out-of-the-blue indeed, yet looks rather logical. The brass-edged lacquered wardrobe has the look of a big suitcase from a distant era, bearing sculptural and ceramic souvenirs from its travels in faraway lands. In the bathroom, the marble on the ground is link with white floor and grey crackled on the wall, a retro design that is the authentic old Parisian style.
In a whole, the room is a collection of many beautiful things that elicit beautiful emotions from people. The designs of material, color and graphic are carefully thought through, and have built up a harmony amongst the gradual contrasts and collocations; a balance between the modern and the ancient; and mostly, an intangible symbolic meaning through the tangible designs.
