凱特·斯蒂文斯（Cat Stevens）是上世紀70年代英國民謠搖滾的代表人物。斯蒂文斯的音樂生涯可以用幾句話概括：1967年出道；1968年因感染肺結(jié)核暫別樂壇；1970年以《尸骨的肖像》（Mona Bone Jakon）復(fù)出，此后推出了民謠搖滾史上的經(jīng)典之作《農(nóng)夫的茶》（Tea for the Tillerman）和《逗弄者與火焰貓》（Teaser and the Firecat）；1977年皈依伊斯蘭教，次年改名為Yusuf Islam；1979年底退出樂壇，2006年重返樂壇。雖然走紅的時間并不長，但凱特·斯蒂文斯（盡管已改名，但大多數(shù)人還是習(xí)慣這樣叫他）的音樂影響力甚大。

斯蒂文斯的音樂似乎總能自帶畫面—開口的瞬間，寫意的英倫田園風光便隨之展現(xiàn)在你眼前。其中最具代表性的是1970年發(fā)表的錄音室專輯《農(nóng)夫的茶》。在制作這張專輯的時候，斯蒂文斯的妻子和別人跑了，歌曲《頑固的女人》（Hard Headed Woman）指的就是他的前妻。雖然內(nèi)心痛苦，但《農(nóng)夫的茶》并沒有因此釀成一壺苦茶，依然保有民謠的清新質(zhì)樸，令人回味無窮。每一杯“茶”都蘊含了斯蒂文斯深刻的思想，比如《孩子們?nèi)ツ睦锿嫠Ｄ兀俊罚╓here Do the Children Play?）表達了他對現(xiàn)代科技文明過度發(fā)展的憂慮，《父與子》（Father and Son）則講述了父與子的代溝問題。而其中最為人津津樂道的一杯“茶”就是《狂野世界》。我們不知道離他而去的是他心愛的姑娘，還是他的女兒，但我們能看到他對她的愛。一字一句，一唱一吟，無一不是對姑娘出外闖蕩的擔憂—外面的世界很精彩，外面的世界很無奈，望你珍重，愿你幸福。
