一、讀前活動
1.熱身:激活學(xué)生舊知、興趣和思維。
教師在自我介紹時用了一張教師節(jié)和學(xué)生的合影照片,提到教師節(jié)是Teachers’Day,啟發(fā)學(xué)生思考在教師節(jié)應(yīng)該對老師說什么?做什么?
教師語言設(shè)計:
T:Look at the picture,who is she?Yes,she is Candy.
T:What is she?
T:She is a teacher.
T:What did the students say to her?
S:Happy Teacher’s Day!
T:What did the students do for her?
S:The students give cards,flowers,apples...to her.
T:Do you think Candy is happy on that day?
設(shè)計意圖:啟發(fā)學(xué)生思考,讓學(xué)生從熟知的教師節(jié)過渡到對“愛豬節(jié)”的興趣和探究。
2.介紹豬節(jié)背景。
教師出示3月日歷,詢問學(xué)生3月有哪些特殊的日子,學(xué)生說到植樹節(jié),教師把時間聚焦到3月1號,讓學(xué)生猜這是一個什么日子。

T:It’s Happy Pig Day in America!
(背景介紹:1984年,美國加利福尼亞的格林維爾市成立了一個愛豬者俱樂部,宣傳豬的可愛和聰明。正巧,第二年美國有一頭豬救起了一個溺水的9歲小孩,因此豬的名聲大振。現(xiàn)在美國已把3月1日定為“全國愛豬節(jié)”,每年舉行慶祝活動和化妝舞會,在會上人們戴上各種各樣的豬面具進行吻豬比賽。)
T:Do you want to know about the Pig Day?Let’s enjoy the story.
設(shè)計意圖:繪本是閱讀材料,讀前把背景知識告訴學(xué)生,有利于激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的熱情,同時能很好地理解文本。
二、讀中活動
1.讀繪本封面及第一張圖,初步感知預(yù)測故事大意。
讓學(xué)生了解故事里的人物,熟悉人物名字小豬Piggy,大象Gerald,繪本作者Mo Willems及預(yù)測故事內(nèi)容。
教師語言設(shè)計:
T:What can you see from the picture?
S:Some pigs and an elephant.
T:What are they doing?Are they happy?
S:The pigs are playing games and they look happy,but the elephant looks sad.
T:Who wrote the story?

設(shè)計意圖:讓學(xué)生先預(yù)測,使其思維活躍起來,隨后檢測預(yù)測是否與文本相符,學(xué)生積極性高、參與度廣。
2.讀圖,理解“Happy Pig Day——the best day?”。
教師語言設(shè)計:
T:Piggy said:“Today is the best day of the year!”,“Do you know how does Gerald respond(反應(yīng))?”
S:He doesn’t know about Happy Pig Day.Gerald thinks the best day is free ice cream day.Gerald likes ice creams.

設(shè)計意圖:通過與學(xué)生之間的生生互動,讓學(xué)生從自己喜歡的節(jié)日能做些什么,聯(lián)系到小豬最喜歡的節(jié)日里能干什么。問題牽引,讓學(xué)生邊閱讀邊思考預(yù)測。這些問題貼近生活,學(xué)生有話可說,真正實現(xiàn)以學(xué)生為主體的課堂真實語言學(xué)習(xí)狀態(tài)。

設(shè)計意圖:帶領(lǐng)學(xué)生讀圖,尋找細(xì)節(jié)信息,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的閱讀技巧。隨后,讓學(xué)生模仿小豬聲音操練語言,把機械性操練變得趣味化,從而達到讓學(xué)生內(nèi)化語言的目的。
4.讀圖并回答問題:How does Gerald feel?Why?

設(shè)計意圖:讓學(xué)生猜誰來了,乍一看都是小豬,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生思維的廣闊性,讓他們思考:他們都是小豬嗎?大象情緒如何?為什么?
5.讀圖填表。

設(shè)計意圖:通過學(xué)習(xí)這三張圖,觀察小象與小豬的不同,填表格,找到Gerald不快樂的原因,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生尋找細(xì)節(jié)的閱讀技巧。教師讓學(xué)生在情境中理解生詞“trunk snout,hooves”,例如教師用圖片把hooves圈上,讓學(xué)生理解生詞形與意的匹配。學(xué)生仿讀,把語言機械操練趣味化。
6.為Gerald配音。
先讓學(xué)生小組活動,操練語言,然后請學(xué)生對著大屏幕,分角色朗讀或者表演。

設(shè)計意圖:為了讓學(xué)生能夠操練語言,教師設(shè)計一個為Gerald配音的活動,通過語言與情感的匹配,讓學(xué)生進一步感知和掌握語言知識。
7.預(yù)測故事結(jié)尾,讀圖回答問題:Who is Happy Pig Day for?Is it only for pigs?

設(shè)計意圖:以問題為主線,帶領(lǐng)學(xué)生預(yù)測故事下文,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生發(fā)散思維,培養(yǎng)思維的廣闊性、深刻性等,同時也將繪本的情感目標(biāo)得到升華。
1.填寫閱讀反饋。
設(shè)計意圖:通過讓學(xué)生再讀故事,檢測學(xué)生是否理解故事梗概。
2.做對話,呈現(xiàn)故事。
設(shè)計意圖:學(xué)生通過對話,把繪本故事呈現(xiàn)出來,模仿輸入語言,從而熟練使用語言,為下面相對真實的語用作鋪墊。
3.小組合作,編一個新的故事書。
設(shè)計意圖:通過完成一系列有層次的活動:一是檢驗學(xué)生對繪本故事是否理解,理解分為整體理解和細(xì)節(jié)理解;二是學(xué)生在理解掌握繪本的基礎(chǔ)上,讓學(xué)生深度思考,小豬的節(jié)日是這樣的,那大象的節(jié)日應(yīng)該是怎樣的呢?小組活動,讓學(xué)生經(jīng)過前期的語言輸入、語言內(nèi)化,從而達到相對真實的語言輸出。

設(shè)計意圖:語言學(xué)習(xí)需要課內(nèi)和課外相結(jié)合,課內(nèi)學(xué)習(xí)必須要延伸到課外。在課內(nèi)激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)及閱讀興趣,完成一個有關(guān)此主題的故事,剩下的讓學(xué)生在課余主動完成,讓課內(nèi)學(xué)習(xí)達到事半功倍的效果,從而讓學(xué)生的語言學(xué)習(xí)得到可持續(xù)發(fā)展。
