They gazed into each other’s tiny eyes and fell in love.

She was his beautiful rainbow， and he was her shiny black pearl.

\"I love everything about you，\" said the tadpole.

“我答應(yīng)你?！彬蝌秸f。

\"I love everything about you，\" said the caterpillar.

\"Promise you’ll never change.\"

\"I promise，\" said the tadpole.

可是當氣候不可避免地變化了之后，蝌蚪?jīng)]法遵守自己的承諾。

當他們再次見面時，他長出了兩條腿。

“你不遵守諾言?！泵x說。

“請原諒我，”蝌蚪請求著，“我沒有辦法。”

But as sure as the weather changes， the tadpole could not keep his promise.

Next time they met， he had grown two legs.

\"You’ve broken your promise，\" said the caterpillar.

\"Forgive me，\" begged the tadpole. \"I couldn’t help it.\"

“我只想要我的明亮黑珍珠，答應(yīng)我，你再也不會改變了?！泵x說道。

“我答應(yīng)你。”他說。

可是當季節(jié)不可避免地變化了之后，他倆再次見面時——他長出了手臂。

\"All I want is my shiny black pearl. Promise me you’ll never change，\" said the caterpillar.

\"I promise，\" he said.

But as sure as the seasons change， the next time they met—he had grown arms.

“這是你第二次不遵守承諾了?！泵x哭了起來。

“請原諒我，”蝌蚪哀求著，“我沒辦法啊?！?/p>

\"That’s twice you’ve broken your promise，\" cried the caterpillar.

\"Forgive me，\" begged the tadpole.\"I could not help it. \"

“我只想要我的明亮黑珍珠。我給你最后一次機會?！泵x說。

可是他們再次見面的時候——他的尾巴沒了。

\"And all I want is my shiny black pearl. I will give you one last chance，\" said the caterpillar.

But the next time they met—he had no tail.

“你已經(jīng)違背諾言三次了，現(xiàn)在，我的心都碎了?！泵x說。

“可是你是我的美麗彩虹呀?！彬蝌秸f。

“是的，可你不是我的黑珍珠了。再見?！?/p>

\"You have broken your promise three times， and now you have broken my heart，\" said the caterpillar.

\"But you are my beautiful rainbow，\" said the tadpole.

\"Yes， but you are not my black pearl. Goodbye.\"

天空變了。樹木變了。只有她對蝌蚪的愛還沒變。她晾干翅膀，撲打著雙翅飛到下面去找他。
