都江堰大熊貓救護(hù)與疾病防控中心是汶川“5.12”地震后由香港特區(qū)政府投資援建的項(xiàng)目，是世界首個(gè)熊貓醫(yī)院，兼具大熊貓的疾病救治、療養(yǎng)、疾病研究和科普教育等功能。項(xiàng)目設(shè)計(jì)貫徹“全壽命周期”內(nèi)資源消耗最小的綠色建筑理念，已獲得綠色建筑三星設(shè)計(jì)及運(yùn)營標(biāo)識。

設(shè)計(jì)結(jié)合熊貓醫(yī)療工藝及生態(tài)環(huán)保要求，總體布局順應(yīng)地形，以川西“林盤”（小體量的簇群）特征聚落化布局，保護(hù)了基地內(nèi)的原有生態(tài)系統(tǒng)及其濕地。單體建筑適應(yīng)地形的視線，對位擺布，因與環(huán)境之間相互融入，互為景觀。建筑形態(tài)取自地域性民居意象，加以綠色創(chuàng)新性的建構(gòu)，讓視覺語境呈現(xiàn)出能指與所指的合理張力。項(xiàng)目中采用了多種適宜的綠色環(huán)保措施和技術(shù)：利用場地內(nèi)舊民宅棄磚加再生磚作隔聲墻；使用坡屋頂?shù)奶糸軐?dǎo)風(fēng)和被動(dòng)式保溫通風(fēng)吊頂；運(yùn)用透水材料進(jìn)行道路硬質(zhì)鋪裝，解決雨水回滲；運(yùn)用鋼結(jié)構(gòu)的工業(yè)化施工與墻體復(fù)合保溫（不用保溫化工材料）；運(yùn)用隔震減震基礎(chǔ)保障重要建筑；雨水調(diào)蓄并收集作中水利用；結(jié)合自然采光調(diào)整窗洞形式減少照明用電負(fù)荷；采用地源熱泵系統(tǒng)解決大部分空調(diào)負(fù)荷；設(shè)熱回收裝置減少能量損失；原有農(nóng)田整理與景觀的結(jié)合等。

設(shè)計(jì)以單體建筑“隱”“融”的策略獲得整體環(huán)境品質(zhì)的提升，擺明設(shè)計(jì)者對人、建筑、環(huán)境之間關(guān)系的態(tài)度，輕觸式地還原了場所存在的意義。

The Dujiangyan Center for Panda Care and Diseases Control is the first project sponsored by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and also the world's first veterinary hospital for pandas. It combines the functions of pandas' treatment and care, recuperation, diseases research and popular science education. The project carries out the Green Building concept in striving for the lowest energy consumption within the "complete life circle". It has obtained 3-star identification for green building design and operation.

Combining the panda veterinarian technology with the needs of eco-environmental protection, the overall layout follows the typography and adopts Southern Sichuan's characteristic "Linpan" settlement (clusters of small houses), so as to preserve the site's existing ecosystem and wetlands. The individual building follows the oppositional visual disposition of the typography and integrates into the setting, so the two form a mutual scenic relationship. The architectural form is derived from the imagery of vernacular houses, and, with additional green design initiatives, exhibits the tension between the signifier and the signified in the visual context. The project adopts various suitable eco-environmental protection schemes and technologies, such as mixing up abandoned bricks from old houses with recycled bricks to make sound-proof walls; the use of sloping roof's overhanging eaves as wind deflectors as well as passive insulation and ventilation means of suspended ceiling; utilizing road system and hard permeable material to solve counter-seeping rainwater; industrialized steel structuring and composite wall insulating (dispensable with chemical materials); using shock insulating and absorptive bases for important buildings; collecting and recycling rainwater for daily use; using natural light to adjust window openings and reduce electrical load; using ground-source heat pump system to relieve airconditioning load; installing heat recovery units to save energy; reclaimation of existing farmlands and their integration with landscape, etc.

The design succeeds in elevating the overall environmental quality through the "withdrawal" and "integration" scheme of the individual building, which demonstrates the designer's attitude towards the relationship between man, building, and setting, thus gently restores the place's meaning of existence.
