1. What about this dictionary?
這本字典呢?
What about...?是一句常用的客套話,它后面可接名詞、代詞或動詞-ing形式。
(1)詢問情況或打聽消息。當對方對談的事情不明確,需要詢問清楚時,可用這一句型。
I’d like a cup of tea. What about you?
我想喝杯茶,你呢?
— I want to talk to you.
我想要和你談話。
— What about?
談什么?
(2)向對方提出建議或請求,相當于句型Would you like...? 語氣很委婉。
What about having some bread?
=Would you like some bread?
吃些面包好嗎?
What about playing football now?
=Would you like playing football now?
現(xiàn)在踢足球怎么樣?
(3)寒暄時用作承接上下文的轉折語。
I’m a student. What about you?
我是學生,你呢?
Our English teacher is good. What about yours?

(4)詢問天氣或身體等狀況。
What about the weather in your city?
你們城市的天氣情況如何?

(5)征求對方的看法或意見。

1. for prep. 為了;給;對,后面接名詞和代詞,表示“目的”。
What can I do for you?
我能為你做些什么嗎?
We study hard for our motherland.

這塊蛋糕是給媽媽的。
2. thank you for加名詞表示“為某事/某物而感謝某人”,如:
Thank you for your father’s book.
謝謝你爸爸的書。
3. help在此為名詞,作動詞時有如下用法:
help to do sth幫助做某事
Could you help to open the window?
你能幫忙打開窗子嗎?
help sb to do sth意為“幫助某人做某事”,不定式符號to可以省略。
He often helps me to study English.
=He often helps me study English.
他經(jīng)常幫助我學習英語。
help sb with sth意為“幫助某人做某事”或“在……方面幫助某人”。有時在上下文意思清楚時,與help sb (to) do sth意思相近。
You can help me learn English.
=You can help me with my English.
你可以幫我學習英語。
help常用句型:
Could you help me, please?
你能幫助我嗎?
May I help you?/ Can I help you?
我能幫幫你嗎?
4. welcome adj.受歡迎的,表示允許對方做某事或使用某物(其后常接介詞to,這里的to既可用作介詞,其后接名詞或代詞;也可用作不定式符號,其后接動詞原形),意為“請自便;隨便你;你盡管可以……”,如:
You’re welcome to English Corner.
隨時歡迎你來英語角。
You’re welcome to ask question.
隨時歡迎你提問題。
You are welcome. 表示“不客氣,不用謝”,一般在對方很友好地道謝的時候回答,有時也可省去You are,而只說Welcome,如:
— Thanks a lot, Mr Smith.
多謝您,史密斯先生。
— (You are) welcome.
不用謝。

名詞性物主代詞
名詞性物主代詞具有名詞的性質,可以單獨使用,在句子中可以作主語、賓語或表語,如:
This is my pen.Yours is on the desk.
這是我的鋼筆,你的在書桌上。(作主語)
The green bike is his.
綠色的自行車是他的。(作表語)
名詞性物主代詞具有“形容詞性物主代詞 + 名詞”的作用,如:
The bike is his. It’s not mine. (mine = my + bike)
名詞性物主代詞與形容詞性物主代詞的區(qū)別;
形容詞性物主代詞起形容詞的作用,用在名詞前。
This is my book.
這是我的書。
We love our motherland.
我們熱愛我們的祖國。
注意:在使用名詞性物主代詞時,必須有特定的語言環(huán)境,也就是要省略的名詞大家已經(jīng)知道、已經(jīng)提起過。
It’s hers.
是她的。
(單獨使用大家不知是怎么回事,不可以這樣用。)
There is a book. It’s hers.
這兒有本書。是她的(書)。
(hers = her book)
只有上文提及了某個名詞,才會知道名詞性物主代詞指代的事物。

但在表示建議、反問、請求的疑問句中,或期望得到肯定回答時也用some,如:

call v. 打電話,后面常接人的名詞或代詞,表示“給某人打電話”。

call sb at + 號碼,表示“撥打某個號碼找某人”。

at prep,表示“在……”,可接地點、門牌號數(shù)、時間點。

lost v. 遺失,丟失,lose的過去式、過去分詞,指因事故、過失、不幸、死亡等原因失去擁有的東西等,含有不能再找回來的意思。

我丟了我的鋼筆。
He lost a leg.
他失去了一條腿。
must 必須,情態(tài)動詞,后接動詞原形,無人稱和數(shù)的變化。它強調個人主觀感覺“有必要、必須”,如:
I must study hard.
我必須努力學習。
find v. 找到;發(fā)現(xiàn),多指偶然發(fā)現(xiàn)、碰到,強調尋找的結果,后接名詞。
I can’t find my book anywhere.
我到處都找不到我的書。
I can’t find the keys.
