should hould“應(yīng)該”這樣用

should意為“應(yīng)該”，和其他情態(tài)動(dòng)詞一樣，沒有人稱和數(shù)的變化，表示說(shuō)話人對(duì)某一動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)的態(tài)度。在句中不能單獨(dú)作謂語(yǔ)，必須和動(dòng)詞原形連用，合成謂語(yǔ)。

一、should的基本用法

1.should表示勸告、建議，認(rèn)為某人“應(yīng)該；應(yīng)當(dāng)”做某事，或表示“有責(zé)任和義務(wù)”做某事。如：

You should wait a little more.你應(yīng)該再多等一會(huì)兒。

2.should表示“要求；命令”，此時(shí)與had better(最好),must(必須)意義相近，但從should→had better→must，在語(yǔ)氣上逐漸加強(qiáng)。試比較：

You should read English in the morning.早上你應(yīng)該讀英語(yǔ)。

You had better read English in the morning.早上你最好讀英語(yǔ)。

You must read English in the morning.早上你必須讀英語(yǔ)。

3.should還可表示可能性或期望。如：

I think your uncle should come there now.我想你叔叔現(xiàn)在可能到那兒了。

二、shou ld的句式轉(zhuǎn)換

1.should的否定形式是在should后面加上not，即：should not，可縮寫成shouldn’t。如：

W e should not tell lies.我們不應(yīng)該說(shuō)謊話。

2.should的一般疑問(wèn)句是把should移置主語(yǔ)之前，句中有some類的詞語(yǔ)時(shí)要改為any類的詞語(yǔ)。如：

Should he go to see a doctor at once?他應(yīng)該立即去看醫(yī)生嗎？

對(duì)一般疑問(wèn)句作簡(jiǎn)略回答時(shí)，肯定回答為：Yes,主語(yǔ)+should；否定回答為：No,主語(yǔ)+shouldn’t。如：

—Should we do more exercise?我們應(yīng)該多做運(yùn)動(dòng)嗎？

—Yes,you should.是的，你們應(yīng)該（多做運(yùn)動(dòng)）。

/No,you shouldn’t.不，你們不應(yīng)該（多做運(yùn)動(dòng)）。

3.should的特殊疑問(wèn)句是由“特殊疑問(wèn)詞+一般疑問(wèn)句”構(gòu)成的。如：

What should I do?我該怎么辦呢？

三、shou ld的特殊用法

1.should用于第一人稱的疑問(wèn)句中表示征求別人的意見。如：

What should I do next?下一步我該怎么辦？

2.should表示“建議或勸告”時(shí)與ought to同義，可以互換使用。如：You should finish the work on time.

=You ought to finish the work on time.你應(yīng)當(dāng)準(zhǔn)時(shí)完成這項(xiàng)工作。

3.should用作助動(dòng)詞，主要用于過(guò)去將來(lái)時(shí)中，只能用于第一人稱。如：

Yesterday I wrote to my father to tell him that I should go to Hang?zhou for vacation the next month.昨天我寫信給我爸爸告訴他下個(gè)月我要去杭州度假。

4.should表示說(shuō)話人的感情，如驚奇、憤怒、失望等，多見于以why，who，how，what等開頭的特殊疑問(wèn)句中。如：

Why should I invite them?為什么我要邀請(qǐng)他們呢？

How should I know?我怎么會(huì)知道？
