【Abstract】This paper introduces the concept and connotation of business English， and elaborates its important role in international trade， and finally puts forward the skills of business English in international trade，hope to provide some reference for the foreign trade enterprises and related personnel.

1.Business English and international trade

International trade is the exchange of capital， goods， and services across international borders or territories. “In most countries， such trade represents a significant share of gross domestic product （GDP）. While international trade has been present throughout much of history （see Silk Road， Amber Road）， its economic， social， and political importance has been on the rise in recent centuries.” International Trade needs to contact with many businessmen from different countries or economic organizations， In the process of communication， language is an important tool of communication. If there is no language as the medium， the transaction will be difficult to effective communication， international trade activities can not be carried out， is not likely to occur.

2.The function of business English in international trade

2.1 Be conducive to international trade negotiations.Negotiations also need to correctly deal with cultural differences， especially in the research process， to conduct an in-depth understanding of the cultural characteristics of partners need， religious belief， working style， otherwise easily lead to unnecessary misunderstanding. Moreover， in the international trade negotiations should pay attention to business English scale and depth， in some cases， treated felt not enough good， not issued a tedious speech. In the negotiations， we need to shape the sincere and trustworthy corporate image， which requires the wisdom of details on the use of business English.

2.2Be conducive to ensure the legal effect of the contract.The intent is to conclude the transaction， the transaction is generally reflected in a written contract signed by both parties， such as Chinese foreign contract only admit the written contract. Strict contract can clear the responsibilities and obligations of both parties， to avoid unnecessary variation on understanding and divergence.

2.3 Be conducive to the implementation and maintenance of trade relations.In the course of performance in the last， through making documents， the timely completion of delivery， payment and so on business process makes the transaction both sides according to the regulations to fulfill their respective responsibilities and obligations of the contract， at the same time， through the successful completion of the transaction also makes each made further will help deepen mutual trust， strengthen exchanges and cooperation.

3.The application skills of business English in international trade

Business English as a specialized use of English， the translation is more complex than the ordinary English. In order to ensure the smooth and effective business negotiation， Study the professional knowledge well is very important. Key to the success of business negotiations is to pay attention to the effect of the expression. negotiations on the premise is to listen to each other's intentions， understand each other's ideas， Therefore， listening is the key negotiation. One is to pay attention to the proper use of professional vocabulary. In international trade， business English requires the translator translate accurately the professional vocabulary， meet business requirements.

4 .Conclusion

With the acceleration of global economic integration， the importance of business English has become more and more important in international trade. Good business English can directly promote the development of China's international trade. Especially in today， China's demand for talents of business English is more and more strong， the quality of the translation of business English is also more and more high， more and more specific. Engaged in foreign trade business English translators should continue to study translation method， translation and communication skills training， for the success of China's foreign trade activities.
