THE OBSERVATION ON CURATIVE EFFECT OF XIFENGDINGJIAWAN IN TREATMENT OF EPILEPSY AND BA

Objective:To explore curative effect of xifengdingjianwan in treatment of epilepsy and change of BA. Methods:133 patients with epilepsy were treated by xifengdingjianwan and BA was examined, and contrasted with control group.Results:The curative effect of treatment group was 95.6%. Control group was 69.7%. BA has obvious change.Conclusion:The curative effect of xifengdingjianwan was obvious. The value applied of BA was important.

In order to observe curative effect of xifengdingjianwan in treatment of epilepsy. 133 patients with epilepsy were treatment by xifengdingjianwan and dilantim （sodium phenytoin）and contrasted. The change of BA was observed. These results were reported as follows now.

Data and Method

1. Clinical data

These patients were 133 cases. In them, patient with primary epilepsy were 121 cases, patients with secondary epilepsy were 12 cases. Male wrer 78 cases. Female were 55 cases. Smallest age was 3 months old. Largest age was 65 years old. These patients were divided into treatment group and control group. Their kind of diseases see table 1.

2. Method

（1）The methods of treatment

Treatment group： xifengdingjianwan one pill was given every once at 30 minutes after breakfast and supper in adults. The does of children cut down according to the circumstance. Three months were one course of treatment.

Control group： Dilantin 0.1g was given 3 times a day. Three months were one course of treatment.

（2）The methods of BA

133 patients were examined by BA-Ⅲequipment made in USA. According to 10/20 system of international standard, 21 recording electrodes were installed. Resistance＜10 kΩ. Fpz was electrodes contacting ground. Resistance＜1.0 kΩ. The magnifying rate of instrument was 20000. Thefiltrating wave of high frequence was 30.0 Hz and low frequence was 1.0 Hz. Recording time was 10 minutes. The EEG of 30 second without artifact were FFTed. Then BA was analyzed.

Results and Analysis

1. Curative effect

（1）The standard of judgement of curative effect： international standard.

（2）Curative effect see table 2.

2. Side effect

There were only nausea and malaise of upper obdomen in two patients.

3. The change of BA

In BA on analysis of time domain, primary epilepsy shows only positive change, secondary epilepsy shows not only positive change and also shows negative change.

After treatment, attack and local high power shadow in α,β,θ,δ band and in analysis of time domain spike, sharp or spike （sharp）-slow wave all disappeared.

Discussion

1.Xifengdingjianwan was one ideal prescription of pure traditional chinese medicine in treatment of epilepsy. Its curative effect was high （95.6%） and contrast with control group （69.7%）, P＜0.01.

2.The side effect of xifengdingjianwan was small. Two patients had only nausea and malaise of upper obdomen and oneself disappeared very quickly.

3. BA may help diagnosis of epilepsy and differential diagnosis and observe curative effect.

目的：探討熄風(fēng)定癎丸的療效和腦電地形圖的改變。方法：用熄風(fēng)定癎丸對(duì)133例癲癎患者進(jìn)行治療并進(jìn)行腦電地形圖檢查，同時(shí)與對(duì)照組進(jìn)行比較。結(jié)果：治療組的療效是95.6%，對(duì)照組是69.7%。腦電地形圖有明顯的改變。結(jié)論：熄風(fēng)定癎丸的療效是明顯的，腦電地形圖有重要的應(yīng)用價(jià)值。
