Merger Tide in Entertainment Sector

Huayi Brothers announced to buy Zhejiang Changsheng Movie and Television Production with RMB 252 million on September 3rd. Since 2012 Huayi Brothers has grown into the second largest company on the GEM through rapid mergers and acquisitions. Huayi Brothers is only one case of mergers and acquisitions in the domestic entertainment sector. In the recent two years， capital operation has become a major way of expansion for many domestic film and television companies.

Situation of Chinese Medicine Industry

Chinese medicine， as one of the world’s most ancient traditional medicine， has played an irreplaceable role. Behind some of the criticism from foreign countries or organizations towards Chinese medicine is huge commercial protection or benefits. However as the birthplace of traditional Chinese medicine and major producing country of herbs， China does need to enhance many factors of Chinese medicine such as policy and management for the future development of this industry.

Rules on Private Banks in Discussion

In August， a local version of the supervision and management of pilot private banks （discussion paper） was formulated and reported to the relevant departments， and is currently waiting for approval. Economy Nation Weekly exclusively got the discussion paper which makes detailed regulation on the establishment， shareholder qualification， operation and management of private banks. The local version of discussion paper will be the template for the formal version and many detailed rules will come from this paper. The first private bank in China will be allowed to set up by March 2014.

Musk and His Hyperloop Plan

After introducing Tesla into the world， Elon Musk， the entrepreneur and SpaceX founder also expressed his intent to develop a prototype hyperloop， which would be the fifth mode of transportation， safer， faster and cheaper than the current transportation tools. A hyperloop would be， according to Musk， \"an elevated， reduced-pressure tube that contains pressurized capsules driven within the tube by a number of linear electric motors.\" A design for the system was published on the Tesla and SpaceX blogs to invite feedback and according to Musk it would be an open source design.
