David Letterman
艾米莉婭·克拉克因主演HBO電視臺(tái)熱播新劇《冰與火之歌:權(quán)力的游戲》(A Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones)而人氣大增,劇中她那美艷無(wú)雙的面孔和一頭金色的長(zhǎng)發(fā),無(wú)不讓該劇的粉絲瘋狂,不愧為 “2012年全球100張最美面孔”魁首。
Host: Have you ever seen the movie *Breakfast at Tiffanys?
Emilia: I have. I have seen it. Yeah.
Host: Did you enjoy it?
Emilia: I did. Yeah. No, I loved it.
Host: It was originally a short story written by*Truman Capote. Im right about that?
Emilia: Youre exactly right about that. Yeah.
Host: Have you read that book?
Emilia: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Host: And the movie? You liked the movie as well, but this is different. Is it different or not? Emilia: Its a direct adaptation of the 1)novella, of the book.
Host: Right.
Emilia: So, its the book rather than the film.
Host: And is this your Broadway debut?
Emilia: It is! Yes.
Host: Well, congratulations! Good. Are you excited?
Emilia: Thank you very much. Thank you.
Host: At the 2)Cort Theater?
Emilia: Its at the Cort Theater, indeed. Yeah. Host: You got your start acting in London? Is that correct?
Emilia: Yeah, I did.
Host: At what age?
Emilia: Well, but I kind of always wanted to be an actor, but when I was about 11, my parents were like, “OK, you wanna give this a go,” and my dad works in a theatre—hes a sound designer—and so he got me in on this 3)audition, this 4)West End audition. So I was about 11 years old, and I was, like, “Yeah, this is amazing. Im gonna go in. Im gonna be an actor. Its gonna be great.”
Host: You had wanted to do this…
Emilia: Oh, yeah…
Host: Yeah.
Emilia: …for quite some time. And I was convinced it was all gonna work out brilliantly, happily ever after, so I turned up to this audition and was not expecting to see 80 girls lined up outside.
Host: Oh my gawd! Eighty 11-year old girls who wanted the part.
Emilia: Exactly, who wanted the part, and so I was 5)freaking out, I didnt have anything, so I kinda 6)shuffled onto the stage. My dads…
Host: Wait a minute. This is your dads fault. Youre auditioned for a musical and you dont have a piece to sing. What did you do?
Emilia: Well, I, so, so I just desperately, in the few minutes before I walked on, was trying to remember any songs, and I was currently being taught a folk song at school called Donkey Riding. “Hey Ho, away we go, riding on a donkey,” is how it goes. And so thats what I did, I…
Host: And…and they…they loved it, right?
Emilia: They hated it.
Host: Aaaah.
Emilia: No, they really…I dont think I even got through the first verse…
Host: Thats not right.
Emilia: And suddenly they asked me for something a little more contemporary…
Host: Yeah.
Emilia: …so then I quickly followed that up with a 7)rendition of the*Spice Girls, “If you want to be my lover…”
Host: Aaaaah? How did that go?
Emilia: …complete with a dance routine. Host: Yeah.
Emilia: I think they saw that out through fits of laughter.
Host: Thats crushing, but you persevered, they must be quite proud of you and your success.
Emilia: Id, yeah, I hope so. I think so. Thank you very much.
Host: Thank you very much for being on the program.
Emilia: Thanks for having me.
